xD M+ Card Replaces H Type Cards
My Olympus SP-550uz needs xD type H cards (rather than the slower type M cards) to enable its SHQ 30fps video mode for longer than 15 seconds. But, type H cards are no longer available.

This new Olympus type M+ xD card (from Flash Memory) seems to enable the SHQ 30fps mode in my camera OK.

Max. recording time for a 2GB M+ xD card in SHQ mode is about 19 minutes.

Panorama function etc. not working
The card came without a manual which already seemed suspicious. When I tried it in my SW 1030 with the latest firmware, the panorama function did not work and movies at highest resolution and frame rate were restricted to 10 sec. According to Olympus, the panoramic function should work with this camera and movies should be recordable up to the maximum capacity of the memory card. I have tried to contact the shop twice to find out what card this really is and to find out how I can return it but had no response.

Be sure that the reseller sends you the correct card
Olympus 2GB XD M+ Cards are fantastic fast and provide almost 1 hour of video of continuous recording.

Be sure that the reseller sends you the M+ card - not just M (there is a big difference - check the Olympus website for details).
