Product Description

New romantic survivors Duran Duran present their twelfth album and first since 2004's 'Astronaut'. After the synth-driven style of their early work and the rock guitar flirtationsof their mid-career period, this album sees their sound take another turn. An ultra-modern, slickly polished electro-pop hybrid which sees them collaborating with Timbaland, his protege Nate "Danja" Hills, and Justin Timberlake, it includes the singles 'Falling Down' and 'Nite Runner'.

Brilliant5
Having been a massive fan of Duran Duran throughout the 80s, I was very curious to hear what sort of music they are producing now. I was lucky enough to get tickets to see them at the London O2 recently on their Red Carpet Massacre tour. I knew they would be performing new material so I thought I would buy this album in advance to familiarise myself with the new stuff. When I first listened I wasnt sure but all the songs definitely grow. Falling Down and Skin Divers in particular are excellent. The Timberland/Timberlake influence is very noticeable and obviously not to everyone's taste but I think it suits Duran's style. I think its great that they still manage to stay current and are able to try something a little different whilst still retaining that essential "Duran sound". They obviously want to make music that can be current with today's trends. Incidentally they were fantastic live at the O2 and the played all the new stuff plus all their old hits. The old hits didn't sound dated and the new material fitted in perfectly. Personally, I wasn't at all disappointed with this album and bands have to try something different if they want to keep performing and sound fresh and Duran Duran have achieved that and have proved that they are definitely not stuck in the 80s.

duran duran are back5
Initially i was disappointed when i heard this album, i guess too many preconceptions of what a duran duran album should sound like got in the way of actually enjoying the music. What i have found is that this is a real grower, yes there are some tracks i am less keen on with regard to the overall quality than others but this album is a real breathe of fresh air and potentially represents a new era for Duran, long my it continue. Finally duran are getting back to dance tinged music that harks back to their earliest albums and for me personally this is fantastic. This album deserves alot of praise and i would also suggest seeing Duran live as they are one of the best bands live i have ever heard.

Massacre? More like MARVELOUS!!!5
I too have been a "Duranie" since the very beginning, but I have to wonder what some of you are listening to? This is a stonking return to form! Please have an open mind and buy the album. Having just seen the boys at The O2 in London and performing a large portion of the album live, it has done nothing but cement my love for this great piece of work. The boys still have it in bucket loads.... Stop comparing and just enjoy!!! :o)
