Manufacturer's Description
From the same creator of the acclaimed Eledees, Dewy's Adventure is yet another compelling and unique Wii title from Konami. It's set in a world where pure water and green forests have flourished and which once enjoyed centuries of peace and prosperity under the careful watch of the Elder Tree.
However, the evil Don Hedron has seized control of the Elder Tree and transformed the land into a gloomy world smothered by Black Water. Using the last of its remaining power, the Elder Tree created a small droplet of water, Dewy, and granted it the power of the elements with the hope that it could eradicate the Black Water and restore peace to the world. Using the Wii Remote, players must tilt the controller to slide Dewy around the landscape and also use the remote to alter the landscape and change the weather effects. Dewy can change from his droplet of water into a block of ice or a cloud to then crash into or zap with lightning the enemies that come at him.
When prompted, shaking the remote will instigate an earthquake and waving it around will create a wind storm, effects that are also vital for players to make progress. There is also an edit mode that players can use to create their own levels before sharing with their friends via WiiConnect - plus there is a multiplayer mode.

Misunderstood Old-School Fun
I've read a few reviews of Dewy about the internet and they very nearly put me off from buying this little-known gem. Reviewers seem to get stuck on the odd controls, and the fact that it looks like a game for kids, but is too difficult for them to play.
Firstly, I think the controls are wonderful. You play Dewy, a drop of water, so how else would you move him about? An analogue stick wouldn't feel right. So the developers made a good choice in letting you tip him in the direction you intend: Like a marble game (Monkey Ball, Kororinpa, etc). Couple this with the enemies to kill, captives to save, and items to collect, and it can get quite hectic. I love it. Essentially this is a Mario game but with tip-controls.
This game looks wonderful - like a fairy tale. If that bothers you, or you didn't like Eleedes, I'd advise you look elsewhere. For me, it all adds to the charm. So what if a 3-year-old wouldn't be able to play? With the ability to change each stage between 3 temperatures (cold, normal and hot - changing Dewy's state respectively to ice, water and steam), earthquakes, gales, I (at 24) can barely play this.
The bottom line is, this is a challenging and rewarding game that I can't put down. It keeps calling me back for more. And with the ability to create new levels, I think I'll oblige it.
Rent it if you're not sure, but buy it if you got the cash.
Lovely little drop of Eau!
Well done to Konami for this innovative game, fantastic fun for children and adults. Has echo's of other Konami hits such as Frogger but with lots of new and exciting ways to use the Wii controls.
A warning though - this is quite addictive and when the children finish playing it's hard not to pick up and while a way a level or two yourself!
Cheaper than other Wii games and definately one to have in the collection.
you can't go wrong
With so much expensive shovelware around why not get this great game for £7.99!! That is an amazing price. I'm always a careful buyer of games and when I looked at the reviews for this one they said it was a great game but only got average reviews because they wern't sure who it was aimed at. Sure it is confusing as it is a hard game and it is very cutsey in style but if you enjoy it, who cares?! The wii motion capability is utilised perfectly and feels like you are playing something like the monkey ball games. Also, when you complete a level, becuase of the difficulty it is quite rewarding. Once again, you cannot go wrong for this price. Give it a go.
