CD Description
Cobra Starship's second song, "Guilty Pleasure" tells you almost everything you need to know about the band. Essentially a side-project of Midtown bassist/vocalist Gabe Saporta, the band caught fire as a result of their song "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)" from the pre-fab cult movie of the same name. The thing is, Cobra Starship doesn't care if they're a guilty pleasure. In fact, they seem to be aiming for just suchstatus. Songs such as "Kiss My Sass" and "Damn You Look Good and I'm Drunk" represent the perfect fusion of both Backstreet and Fall Out boys. "Smile for the Paparazzi" has a clattering electro-funk beat that may as well be from a Gloria Estefan song, and "Angie" could be a lost John Secada track. People with an axe to grind against emo AND pop are going totear VIVA LA COBRA to shreds, but anyone who ever sang loudly and without shame to pop radio is going to wonder where this album has been all their lives.

A Five Star Howl !
Walking in the shadow of Fall Out Boy has been no bad thing for these lads but 'Viva La Cobra' more than deserves its' own place in the spotlight.
The eleven songs here display a pure pop sensibility which raises Cobra Starship head and shoulders above many of their current peers.
Latin rhythms, driving rock, bouncy beach-ball electronica and sunshine killer-hook choruses all join up in a seamless collection of five star jump-up-and-down pleasure.
( When she heard 'Damn You Look Good and I'm Drunk' Mrs Wolf thought she was listening to Ricky Martin !! )
Trust me that's no bad thing !
Fangs Up!
I seriously love this album. I think they've done rather well at creating songs that I want to sing along to as well as dance to! Tracks such as Kiss My Sass and My Moves Are White get stuck in my head for days, and I'm on no rush to get them out! Some of the songs grow on you, I wasn't too keen on One Day, Robots Will Cry on first listen but I'm getting to love it.
I've been raving so much about Cobra Starship that several of my friends have started to listen to them, and all of them think they are great too! I just wish these guys were bigger!
Not long ago, i gave up hope, but this came along, gave me something i could hold on to
I've been a fan of Cobra Starship since i saw them support Fall Out Boy in March 2007. I bought this on cheap import from America. This is as good as the first record if not better. The sound is in keeping with WTCSWRTS with a bit more keytar. They have an original sound in my opinion, which will get you dancin' and is fresh in a music scene full of average guitar bands. For me, the stand out tracks are Guilty Pleasure, Kiss my Sass, The World Has It's Shine, and Angie. Kudos to Gabe and co. Buy this.
