Customer Reviews

No time-slip play back2
This machine seems to work quite well. However there are some "expert" reviews stating that this machine can use DVD RAM discs to achieve time-slip, playing a recording whist recording. This is not so. After some time trying to do this and reading the manual I called Samsung and was told quite categorically that this machine cannot do this. If, as I did, you wanted the DVD RAM recording functionality in order to do time-slip, this machine is not for you.

Very flawed piece of kit1
Pros - well built, quiet operation, looks good, picture quality excellent, cheap.

Cons - biggest problem is you can only record 2 hours and 6 minutes onto a 4.7G DVD-RAM. You cannot use LP etc when recording digital channels, only with the analogue tuner. Lots of strange quirks, e.g. when searching the guide, say you're watching BBC News 24 and you want to set a recording on BBC1, when you search the guide, it will take you to BBC1, so once you've chosen the program you have to go back to News 24 i.e. it will stay on BBC1. EPG is pretty slow too. You cannot chase playback with DVD-RAM. To make a recording you must leave on Timer Rec, you can't watch another channel etc.

If this had better recording capabilities and enhanced software it would be a good product.

Absolute rubbish1
This is the most frustrating piece of electronics I ever bought. I thought it would link up neatly with our Samsung TV. I wish.

When switching on it flicks between inputs. Has a terrible user interface, is confusing to program. You still need 2 remote controls even though they should be compatible. The list of gripes is too long for this space

Its lucky to get 1 star even. Look elsewhere I suggest
