Manufacturer's Description

SEGA and Bizarre Creations, the developer behind the critically acclaimed racing series, Project Gotham Racing and arcade smash hit Geometry Wars, deliver a whole new breed of third-person shooter known as The Club.

Join a misfit cast of killers forced to fight for their lives in an underground blood-sport controlled by faceless, obscenely wealthy and influential elite. Battling in abandoned locations spread across the globe these modern day gladiators with guns seek victory for a number of reasons - some for wealth, some because they have no choice and some to satisfy their insane bloodlust. No matter the reason the only thing that guarantees survival is their skill with a gun.

very good5
very good attempt by sega. good graphics and game play with a good choice of weapons, characters and levels addictive online

spot on for its time5
brilliant online game with superb graphics and game play. how can people slag this off. every game gets repetitive but this is good because the outcomes are random and you can have a lot of different battles. this should have 5 star rating. people with shallow minds should not be able to review this

Fun for a while but soon becomes repetitive.3
This game is great fun. However, this eventually wears thin as it soon becomes very repetitive.

The aim of the game is to kill as many people as possible, in the most stylish way, to get a high score. As I said earlier this is great, and to keep trying to beat your score is addictive at first. It soon becomes clear though, that there is a distinct lack of depth. All the "baddies" spawn at the same point. Once you have memorised this, apart from beating your own score, there is nothing left to do.

Overall this game feels more like a very polished "bonus mission" of a bigger game. It is very similar to the "mercenary's missions" which are unlockable upon completion of Resident Evil 4. What makes those more rewarding is the fact that you have had to complete 15 to 18 hours worth of game play to get there. With "The Club" you feel as though something is missing and I don't think it is any coincidence that the price for "new and used" games has dropped so dramatically. At half the rrp it is well worth spending a few hours with but definitely worth buying a brand new copy for around forty quid.
