It is what it is - lighten up!
If you don't like this sort of thing at fun fairs then, duh! of course you'll hate Carnival. But for me it's a great interpretation of the real thing and I enjoy it for the brief light-hearted entertainment it's meant to be. Whoever said side shows were meant to be intellectually challenging...?
P.S. The Ringmaster's demonstrations make it perfect for learning how to control the Wiimote.
poor, poor, poor
very unimpressed by this game. i liked the idea of a series of fun games to get your mates involved, but right from the offset i was dissapointed by the lack of skill and depth in it.
there are only 3 actions to play the games, swing the remote underarm as if throwing a ball - throw overarm - and aim and press a button.
it really is dull as dishwater - i played about 4 of the games and after realising how little enjoyment or challenge there was i switched it off.
i gave it a quick go the next day and tried all the games - but it just wasnt worth keeping with - there may well be some extras to unlock - but i really didnt have any urge to fidn out as it took repeating the same boring games over and over again.
if your into your gaming there is nothing for you here - if you are unfamiliar with consoles and video games you might get some measure out of these very simplistic - unchallenging mini games.
rayman and sonic and mario are much better fun for mini games.
Not a Classic but the Wii was made for this kind of game
If, like me, you own a Wii to experience a totally unique type of video-game & despite owning a host of games, keep going back to good-old Wii Sports, then spending £15 on Carnival should be money well-spent.
The graphics are average at best, it's hardly mind-blowing and overall it could have been much better but there's still loads to enjoy with the style of this game. You can literally pick it up for 5 minutes or spend an hour or more playing it. Great with friends (although admittedly there can be a lot of waiting around at many of the "stalls") and great fun on your own as you try to win prizes, I enjoy playing alone or with others.
Some of the games are ridiculously addictive yet at the other end of the scale some are just plain stupid. Who doesn't enjoy shooting hoops or blasting away at ducks ? Equally why on earth do I want to try and keep a steady hand to move a hoop over an electricfied piece of bendy wire or throw a coin onto a flat plate ?
Carnival's far from perfect but for £15 or even less it's a worthy addition to a totally different type of console. Good clean fun
