prepared to spend the money? buy the damn GI's from scullcandy!
what can i say, I am in love with a pair of headphones.
if any bad points, it would have to be the fact they take the "GI" idea a bit too far with all the references to the army etc. apart from that, theyre amazing headphones! any more and you would need batteries to power them.
the sound quality is crystal clear with realy good bass notes. you get a realy loud and heavy bass without it fuzzing or dominating the overall sound. it can realy feel like youre in a club! you just get lost.
theyre comfortable with a choice of both leather and cloth pads (both supplied and interchangable)
the chords a bit odd, its a short cable with a long attatchment. from what i could tell, there was no difference in sound, but i know the extended chord will eventualy get lost!
all connecters are gold plated including the stereo adapter thats also included.
also, freebies galore! where do I start, free extra pads, free multi-tool (the GI thing getting carried on beyond sound), free sticker, free stencil, free stereo adapter, free bag (which is damn stylish!) and free lifetime warranty.
oh and the warranty! this covers mechanical defects of the headphones fault with a free replacement. theres also a warranty that states if you break these by excessive use (a headbanging sesion, a crash on the mountains, a punch in the face by your wife, all some of the reasons stated in the actual warranty!) they will give you a voucher for 50% off anything in the scullcandy store! so unlike my old behringer headphones that were brilliant to start off with, and then deteriated, I can always stick by my review!
the inline volume control feels a bit tacky but is nice and descrete and works realy well. they fit like a dream with a headband that flexes equal ammounts all the way round so is snug on your head. the swivels and joints feel solid and theres no real flimsy part of the phones overall. granted theyre possibly not the best scullcandy headphones, but they sure have the least downsides to all of their products! i wouldnt say no to another pair!
very very good.
i have just got my headphones, the GI in BLACK.
on first inspection they are amazing.
---very good quality
---doesn't create the stupid mickey mouse effect.
--- they are a beautiful bit of kit.
---very comfortable.
---easy to assemble.
---comes with tones of free goodies.
however they do have a few downsides (only a few i might add)
---the sound quality leaves a little to be desired, great highs and mids but does distort a little listening to a bassy song on my ipod with the EQ on R&B.
--- im being really picky now, but the cable is a bit too long. im 6 foot 1 and its still a bit long.
---the warranty from skullcandy doesn't cover england, which is a shame.
overall a fantastic piece of kit and i love them. they are very very cool, but if ur goin for stupid bass then the skullcrushers are probably for you.
i hope this helps il put some pictures up soon:)
Don't wast your money
skullcandy headphones hasn't got the best sound quality but they are quite comfortable, i wear glasses and i can keep these headphones on my ears for ages. the downside of this headphones is the headbands, they made out of plastic and very easy to snap off. i had these for about over half year now and i have snap one side of the earphones off now i had to rejoin them together via a piece of aluminum sheet to reinforce the headband.
so the bottom line is that if you want style and don't really care about money then by this, if not there are so many good headphones out there that is both cheap and strong.
