Customer Reviews
Great CD...top songs
If, unlike the previous reviewer, everytime you get in the car you do NOT want to drive faster than a speeding bullet and instead like to chill out and have a bit of a sing song behind the wheel, then this is a top choice of CD. No, it doesn't make you want to go 100mph. But that's probably a good thing. As chances are, if you're listening to this, you're probably not driving a Ferrari.
It's fun, it's got great songs on it, and it's the kind of CD you will want to sing along to.
Obvious and Pointless
I feel kind of cheated listening to this shameless Christmas cash in, and it's not even December yet. It starts off with some recent lightweight indy-pop from The Feeling, KT Tunstall et al which was rather unexpected. Although most of the songs are decent, their inclusion is obviously because of chart success rather than being good to drive to.
As a genre driving songs are usually deep, fast and powerful, like a sports car engine. This makes the choices in this album really odd, many of them are light and twittery or slow, heartfelt songs which don't really set the mood you want while batting down the motorway. There's a really odd mix of oldies, I've no idea what generation this is aimed at - probably anyone that might buy it.
If you would like some driving music that has been carefully considered, try the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Could do better
Not bad but not great, some good modern stuff and a couple of good oldies.
I'm sure there must be better examples of 'Driving' Music out there.
