Debut album from London-based singer-songwriter Remi Nicole. An exciting mixture of indie rock and acoustic pop, this album will appeal to fans of Lily Allen and The View. Includes the singles 'Go Mr Sunshine' and 'Rock 'N' Roll'.

Customer Reviews

A great debut, shame about the production3
Remi Nicole is a fresh, dynamic singer from the heart of "Norf" London. Her consonants may be dropped like Lily's but that's where the similarities end.

Nicole's songs are a little darker and more gritty than her contemporaries and deal with life and love in a down to earth, honest fashion. In her recent live dates she's sounded fantastic supporting Mr Hudson and the Library and Amy Winehouse.

Unfortunately this album has been overproduced, and her simple girl with guitar formula has been beefed up with multitudes of guitars, drums and other instruments that simply weren't needed.

These are great songs, there's no doubt about it (standout tracks "Rock and Roll" and "Go With The Flow" could easily give your Kate Nash and KT Tunstall a run for their money) but if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and it seems that someone's tried to polish her sound up a little too much for the commercial audience.

Neverless this album is worth a punt for its great songwriting and stick-in-your-head melodies, and Nicole is certainly worth seeing live for a true reflection of her talent.

Forget Lily Allen.
Forget Lady Sovereign.
Forget Arctic Monkeys.
Meet the new ambassador of witty and clever lyrics.. Remi Nicole.

I heard her demo songs a while back through her myspace page so I knew straight away what I was gonna be hearing on her debut album and I weren't dissapointed.. a wonderful collection of cleverly lyriced songs on funky indie/urban beats!

I love this album and I usually name the stand out tracks on an album but I seriously cant with this release it is flawless and a great debut from a great artist.

A star5
I was lucky enough to see this young lady while supping a pint at Brixton last night in anticipation of the awesome Ms Winehouse. That Remi can justifiably be mentioned in the same sentence as Amy should tell you all you need to know. She will be a big star.
