Third place contestants on television's The X Factor, sibling pop duo Journey South's second LP continues in a similar vein to their first. 'Home' sees Carl and Andy sharing much of the songwriting responsibility, including the lead single'What I Love About Home'. Existing fans of the duo will find much to enjoy in this release through their accomplished vocal harmonies, coupled now with a welcome focus on self-penned material rather than the reliance on cover versions theyhave been associated with.

Fantastic!
We went to see Journey South at the Spa Centre in Leamington Spa this week and they were fantastic. It was just tragic that they were playing to a half empty theatre - they deserved a full house. We bought their CD after watching them perform and it's brilliant. I love all the tracks and it's the best CD I've bought for a while. Well done boys and a great live performance. If you get the chance to see them you should go - you won't be disappointed.
Really enjoyed this, better than the first album
Don't get me wrong, I loved their first album because I love their voices, but it was also great because you can sing along as you know most of the songs already. With this album, it's written by Carl and Andy so you have to listen a few times to learn the words so you can wail along.
I really, really like this album. It's the perfect mix of ballads and upbeat songs - there's nothing worse than an album that sounds the same all the way through, and the guys here have created a fantastic balance. There are some really catchy songs on here which you'll find yourself singing along to in the shower. Well done boys, great effort. Fans will love this... if you haven't got this already, get it.
They've arrived and in style
This is joint equal the best album I've heard in 2007. Forget the first album of competent covers, this is the real Journey South. They are enormously talented singer/songwriters who have self composed 11 of the 12 tracks, with every one (except 12) much better than the covers on the original album. Lyrically these compositions are very strong and encapsulate concisely the emotions of love both lost an found. They are obviously drawn from personal experience and as such are readily associated and empathised with. The lyrics are fully supported by memorable and distinctive melodies and powerful, occasionally tender but always harmonious voices and what a pleasure to be able to hear every word clearly pronounced. The stand out track on a stand out album for me is number 5 Reconcile but track 2,9 & 10 are not far behind. Each song is passionately sung with heart and soul and this album is nothing less than superb. Within Temptation's The Heart of Everything was my other joint first album - very different sound and genre - I listen to and appreciate many different types of music.
