Exactly what it looks like.
This item is exactly what it looks like - a female-female mini jack audio adapter. I used it to connect my component audio cables to my stereo PC speakers. It doesn't get any simpler.

It has a nice feel to it, solid metal feel with a textured grip making it easy to plug and unplug. When I plug the mini jack into it, it fits very firmly, so it won't fall out by mistake. My only gripe (hence the loss of a star) is that the metal cap which the mini jack plugs into sometimes gets pulled out along with plug. It doesn't damage the device in any way, but shows that it's not as well constructed as it could be (possibly the cap is too tight, or just not connected well enough).

Still, it's cheap, serves its purpose well, and does not lose any quality in sound.
