A highly recommeded FUN way to loose weight
Like alot of people, I was drawn to this dvd by the front cover, of how much weight Vicky had actually lost and how great she looks. Im not a large person, nor that much overweight, but being only 5 ft, according to statistics im overweight by half a stone. I bought the dvd wanting to shift that half a stone and tone up a bit.
Now, this dvd is awesome for burning fat, and lasts about an hour long in total, with 4 sections. It slowly introduces you to a few dance moves and gives u enough time to go over them until you understand and can make the most of out it. I have to admit I used to dance before, so I picked them up faster than people that dont I suppose, but trust me they are simple enough to pick up after a few times and fun at the same timme. Just be prepared to do some squats even in the warm up and press ups in the cool down, which I found tough at first.
I recommend that this dvd is good to do say 3 times a week for the best results. I cant even do it this much as I have to work it around my flat mate and I do it when she goes out, and im a full time university student also. But ive been doing it for about 3 weeks now, and have done the dvd about 7 times and I have seen some results.
From eating healthy foods, and this dvd I have gone from 8st 9lb to 8st 5lb, but I knew I wouldnt loose as much as others as I am not that overwight to begin with. Or the fact that when fat turns to muscle it weighs more, i dont know! But the real results can be seen from inch loss, i check weekly my waist thighs and other areas and have lost about 3 inches from my waist for far and a few inches from everywhere else, so it does work!
If you are quite overweight or want to tone up, this dvd is for everybody, I highly recommend it as a fun way to get active and actually loose some weight because it works!
a good workout
Ive got about 5 fitness dvds in my cupboard and to be honest ive done them once and havn't bothered with them anymore. I bought Dance it off coz i liked the fact that it combines dance moves with key fat burner moves. Im quite impressed with myself because ive managed to work out to it 3 times this week. The first time i had to really just stand there and work out all the dance moves as its quite fast and vigorous, but by the second time i knew what was coming and got straight into it. Once you know the moves its fun and you don't really need to concentrate on what they are doing with their feet. You just enjoy it. Rachel the fitness instructor keeps you motivated and does the dance moves in stages to break it down. Once you have got the hang of it and have done it afew times you get to do all the dance as a whole. There also alot of jumpng and sliding about so make sure you have enough space to do the workout or you really won't feel the benifit of it.I found the 'core crunch' a killer for my arms and abs and was sore for days later but Vicky mentioned that if it hurts the day after that means its working so its not to bad, it just makes me more determined not to put this dvd in the cupboard with the rest of them.In the menu theres also an eating plan section where it give you a choice of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is really helpful if your stuck and wondering what healthy foods you can eat.
This dvd is different from all the others i have had because your actually dancing, yeah there are afew leg crunches and star jumps etc here and there but its all combined, its not just another boring fitness ( what you would do at the gym ) dvd.
Tough but very enjoyable!
I have just finished doing this exercise DVD and I really enjoyed it! It's the second time I have done this DVD since I bought it on Wednesday, along with Natalie Cassidy's DVD and Davina's new DVD, and I am already picking up the moves which I am quite impressed with as I am not much of a dancer but having done other exercise routines in the past it's definately helped me with my co-ordination!
I really looked forward to doing this DVD again and you do forget you are exeercising sometimes as you are concentrating on getting the moves right and putting them all together so it feels like you are doing a whole dance routine which is quite fun rather than doing countless lunges and squats (although there are quite a few squats in this DVD but its not too bad as they are integrated into the dance routine but they are still painful! lol!) Sometimes the moves can get a bit confusing but I just did my best and carried on and obviosuly the more you do the DVD the more you will pick them up and as I said its my second time doing this DVD and I'm already picking them up well! Some of the moves can be quite tough I always find squats painful (but who doesn't!? lol!) and I can't do the whole routine yet I have to leave out a few squats in some of the dance routines or I think my legs will fall off! but obviosuly it will depend on your fitness level on how easy or hard you find this DVD. I am overweight (size 16 round the bottom and 14 on top! typical pear shape!!!) and I am hoping that one day I will be able to do all the squats!!!
The trainer Rachel is nice enough and explains the moves well and Vicky isn't annoying she just lets the instructor get on with the routine and doesn't really talk much. The music in the DVD is just dancey exercise video music not any chart hits or anything but it's still good and to be honest I was so busy concentrating on the moves I didn't really notice the music much!
The warm up called 'Street Heat' is good and made me sweat abit and it introduces you to some moves you will be doing in the other sections.
'Urban Burn' is the next section and it goes on for 15mins and it's really good fun with quite abit of jumping and dance moves that get's you sweating and then after that is 'Power Groove', another 15min section, and when you think you can't sweat anymore this section show's you that you can! lol! You do grape vines, leg curls, jogging, side lunges, knee lifts, star jumps and sqats (OMG these are a killer!) but I enjoyed the punching but then you have to do more squats and jumping (my poor legs!!!) but they're the things that get rid of the flab which is what I keep having to tell myself when I try and do one more! lol!
The last section is called 'Core Crunch' and you do press up's (which I find a bit difficult) and you do leg exercises and tummy exercises and then you stretch although I always find with any exercise DVD they don't do enough of these stretches so I always do more once the DVD is over, especially quad and calf stretches what with all that squatting and jumping!
Overall I really recommend this DVD as it is enjoyable and gets your heart rate going and hopefully it'll help me get skinny for summer!!! lol!
