No 'Sun reader' jokes required5
This is a very good crossword collection. The crosswords are not 'dumbed down' for Sun readers !
Each crossword has both cryptic and 'coffee time' clues and you can switch between them at will. The earlier reviewer was wrong in saying you can't switch (although it must be said that the booklet accompanying the game is useless, the in-game tutorial is a bit better and you'll soon catch on as you play). The handwriting recognition seems as good as any on the DS i.e. if you make slight adjustments to the way you write some letters you won't have significant trouble. If you're stuck it will give you the letter in any square as a hint if you ask for it (you just get a time penalty).

I don't think the game is as bad as BABYPUKE says but I am very disappointed with it. The worst thing, I find, is that you can ONLY SAVE ONE GAME so, unlike with a puzzle book, where you can 'come back to this one later' (in other words wait til someone else knows the answer) and go on to another puzzle, you are stuck with the one you are doing or lose what you have done so far and start a new one.

STILL A terrible game1
truly awful game. character recognition is appalling, touch screen doesn't seem to match up with the puzzle outlines.

** IGNORE THE FOLLOWING - I DIDN'T READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. HAVE LEFT IN AS REFERENCED IN LATER REVIEWS **
one of the best things about The Sun crossword (the real one) is that you can use both sets of clues, this games locks you into either cryptic or tea-time.

save your money and buy a puzzle book from your local newsagent.
