These are still not fixed1
I have bought the new Xbox 360 arcade with the improved Falcon chipset with HDMI output looking for a more reliable console than the previous versions of the Xbox 360, and with gentle care and loads of ventilation it breaks down after 5 months of really not alot of gaming, Mine wont load any Xbox 360 games now from a CD, All it now says is Open tray on the dashboad with a disc inside, i have tried all of there sugestions on there website and nothing has worked i am extremely annoyed with this being my 3rd Xbox 360. The last 2 were the original spec Xbox 360's that broke on me, Please all be aware that these are not the answer still, i won't be getting another Xbox 360 after this and i shall be selling the replacement as soon as it arrives.

What can I say?!5
Before anyone says I am a fanboy or anything else i wanted to say something, I own a ps3 and a 360 and am happy with both, i believe they both have good points and bad and personal preference is the key.

Recently my xbox 360 had decided it hated me after 13 months and packed in.
Refused to get my console repaired, lets face it, who knows when it will go again!

Begged my partner to Order me a 360 arcade while i was at work so i could get it before the weekend :P and had it out the box and set up in 2 mins flat when it got here, the included games are pretty good considering, but buy more believe me!!! have my hard drive from my old premium but im not using it, the missus has just ordered a arcade for our son so im gonna let him have it, he plays so much more than me, shame i have to work :)!
All in all i would recommend the arcade, yes i know it doesnt have a headset, it doesnt have a hard drive and only a composite av lead, but at £160 can anyone really say your getting ripped off?

In my case the premium/elite would have been a waste, i already have a hdmi cable, I have a wireless headset and am not worried about downloading off xbox live so its the perfect console for me, even if you dont have those things for a change i agree with microsoft, just buy what you want, when you want it, when you can afford it or whatever.
Take the plunge, its worth it, and at this price you can enjoy with a no guilt, enjoy!!!

Serious letdown1
I bought a xbox 360 and rarely played it (still had protective slip over cover), not for any long periods of time, enjoyed it and found gaming online good. Then one day I started up and I saw a red light, and error e74, I tried many attempts to get the machine working, tried everything that was online, ultimately I phoned microsoft, waited for ages and was directed through procedures by the operator that I had already tried on nuerous occassions.

"excellent we now know what the problem is and for £65 we can get it repaired for you" "on yer bike" I replied, "rather expensive for a machine only just over 1 year old".

So I have given up microsoft, which I am rather miffed about because I had 10 360 games and about 10 original xbox games aswell, but for reliability is the most important factor when shelling out serious money for consoles.

So please beware, and only buy if you wish to gamble your money, I have since bought a PS3 and am totally delighted with this, it is much quieter and provides good multimedia facilities. And most games are now cross format.
