Customer Reviews

Drop in quality?2
I recently bought the Series 1 White Spartan Mark VI, and was very, very impressed with the fine detail in the moulding, the way the joints were articulated, and the excellent detail and quality finish of the paint-job. In fact, the overall quality surpassed my already high expectations of a poseable McFarlane figure.

On the strength of this first purchase, I thought I'd get Master Chief himself, and I noticed this version with alternative weapons, so I went for it. I'm not sure if it's true for all Series 3 figures, but for me, this figure felt like it was a cheap copy of a McFarlane figure -a good copy, but the quality just dosn't match my series 1 figure.

The paint job seems faithful in detail, but has more of a glossy finish, and the moulded details aren't as crisp. The movement of the joints also feels more spongy, and in fact, one leg is inclined to pop out of its socket if it isn't pushed into place while being twisted. The hand sculpts are crude compared to the Series 1 figure, and while this might address the complaint of weak wrist joints (not one I agree with, I might add), they don't compare well at all.

I did actually check the box to see if it was an authentic McFarlane figure, and it does seem to be, (but maybe I'm wrong here?) but the overall quality really feels more like a cheaper toy.

I've no complaints with Incognito Comics, they've always delivered items well packaged in good time, but I wouldn't recommend this particular figure to anyone who appreciates the usual high standards of McFarlane.
