Final Fantasy I5
Although this is the 6th remake of the original Final Fantasy, if you haven't played any of it's previous ports, this is the most definative version, containing all the new dungeons and extras from the GBA release, the FMV sequences and remixed music from the Playstation release, and some newly re-drawn graphics, which I might add look stunning, with great detail and sharpness. The gameplay may not have aged as gracefully as the later titles, with frequent random encounters, but if that's how you like your RPG's, you can't go wrong here. The best and most enduring feature of Final Fantasy I is the ability to select your four main characters job from the beginning. You could have a traditional mix that might include a Warrior, Black Mage, White Mage, etc. or to make things interesting, you could have a party made up of all Warriors or all White Mages for an extra challenge. The storyline is a little thin, basically you have these four warriors who must restore balance to the world by defeating a set number of beasts, certainly not as epic in scale as later titles in the franchise, but it's basic story is a nice reminder of how the RPG genre started out and where it's gone since.

Bye bye social life...5
The first game in the epic Final Fantasy series is now available on PSP and its great. The graphics have been updated since the NES days and looks positively nice on the little handheld.

The gameplay is really good. Its a good premise, with certain items needing to be found to unlock a new area, to get new stuff etc. It has a lot of play value in it and you may well find yourself stuck.

I have racked up almost 10 hours of play already on this and I'm only about half way through. If you like your games long and deep there is no better buy than this, especially at this price.

A straightforward arcade style game.3
I have never played any of the Final Fantasy games so when I bought a PSP I decided it was time to at least try one. I have found the game to be addictive and easy to play. The graphics are clear, and easy to see on the small screen. The only real drawback is the lack of engaging storyline to drive you forward. The world is quite large and as you move round you find small elements of plot but these are very small and don't help that much.

For the price and ease of game play this is a must buy as it can provide a little distraction whilst waiting for something else, but I don't find it engages my attention for much more than half an hour at a time.
