Fast, Cheap and Easy To Control
I purchased the Tripod Dolly from Netgadgets and got it the next day and it was in great condition.

I mainly use my Sony FX7 video camera in all my filming, which is heavier than most handheld cameras due to its prosumer nature. However when using the Tripod Dolly I found that it gave the smoothest shots while indoors, so I then experimented by going outside and trying it on the pavement, which gave just as smooth shots.

The price was every cheap as well, Dolly's are usually expensive, but as I've said this was cheap.

I recommend this for any film makers who are in love with Dolly shots in films, but lack the large budget to do so. I also highly recommend using Netgadgets as they were fast and effective in the delivery of the Tripod Dolly.

The camera shakes badly even across the smoothest surfaces
While I give Netgadgets full marks for their quick delivery and price, I can't see that I will have any use for this product as I can't get a smooth shot while using the dolly over even the smoothest lino floors. The wheels are hard, with no give, and the whole dolly and tripod shake as soon as I begin to move them.

The dolly is easy and convenient to set up, pack away and attach to tripods of any size, but none of this is any use to me if I can't get a steady tracking shot while using it.

There's a review on here that describes the dolly working well over gravel and rough surfaces... but I found that rough surfaces only exacerbated the problem, and over gravel there just wasn't a chance. The thing barely even moved when I tried - it kept getting stuck.

Perhaps this dolly has good applications that I haven't thought of, but in terms of achieving steady tracking shots for video work it doesn't do the job.

First Class product.
I ordered the Tripod Dolly from Netgadgets on the 28th of Oct '08 and received it at 9.20am on 29th Oct!It came in a well packed box with the receipt.

The first thing I noticed is that the dolly is solid,made of good quality material.When it's unpacked it takes seconds to set up.The legs click into place when the dolly is fully opened.You place the tripod into the retaining clips on the dolly legs and tighten them into place with the worm screw adjuster.
You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design by it's attention to detail. It has locking wheels, it's ajustable so you can move the feet of the tripod along the legs of the dolly.
When it is folded up it's easy to carry as there is a metal carrying handle built into the dolly.
There is a bag to store it in with a shoulder type carring strap.


So in all I would give Netgadgets five stars for both service and product quality.
