Very Very Good
I feel I should start by saying I am in the camp of not minding "another Live Album" from Rush. I think their live albums often sound more dynamic and alive than the studio versions and this one doesn't disappoint. I saw the show in London and the whole set is included on the two discs, minus the hilarious Southpark intro to Tom Sawyer. The Snakes and Arrows songs work really well along side the older songs off Hemisperes and Signals and there is a pretty good spread of songs from most of their back catalogue.

To finish up, the album is very very good. If you like Rush live you can't go wrong and to all the people complaining of "Yet another Live Rush album" nobody is forcing you to buy it.

RUSH...get live right on. I have actually HEARD this album!!!

RUSH...have released many live and greatest hit albums. For a band that has been around 30+ years , this is nothing new in rock.

Many bands like , THE STONES , YES , ELP , KING CRIMSON and AEROSMITH , ect , have all have released many live and greatest hit albums.

In my opinion , SNAKES & ARROWS : LIVE , is their best sounding live album ever.

NO reunion concerts for RUSH. They had the guts to play 9 of their new songs live on this tour.

ALL quality songs. How many other bands can make that same claim after 30+ years together?

Recorded over 2 nights in , HOLLAND , they have got their live sound and their live performance RIGHT ON this time.

This album has NOT been mastered too loud and there are NO compression issues.

There is some fan cheering but the crowd is NOT nearly as loud as they were on , RUSH IN RIO.

All of the vocals and the instruments are in perfect balance with each other.

YES , there are a few songs that have been on other live RUSH albums before this one , however , there are 12 SONGS that have never appeared on any other live RUSH album.

CIRCUMSTANCES , DIGITAL MAN and ENTRE NOUS , are now nice to have as live recordings for the first time ever.

9 of those newly recorded songs are from the amazing , SNAKES & ARROWS , album and they rival their studio counterparts because of their pure LIVE power!

The , SNAKES & ARROWS , live songs are nicely divided between 2 discs.

5 of the songs are on disc # 1 and 4 of the songs are on disc # 2.

Even the older songs have a new life because they were recorded so well and they all have subtle music changes to them.

DIGITAL MAN , has a new and improved arrangement. Songs like , SECRET TOUCH , NATURAL SCIENCE , MISSION , WITCH HUNT , BETWEEN THE WHEELS , A PASSAGE TO BANGKOK and LIMELIGHT [with it's extended opening note] , ect , are NOT just carbon copies of their studio counterparts.

GEDDY's voice , is lower because of his age. His great singing voice is not lost in the mix.

There is also much LESS vocal over-dubbing in every song.

GEDDY's bass , is very clean & clear.

NEIL , performs a great NEW drum solo on this tour and the drum recording rocks!!!

ALEX's , guitars have never sounded cleaner and / or clearer.

Even the keyboards sound awesome.

Although the members of , RUSH , are in their mid 50s they can still play like a house on fire.

If you loved the , SNAKES & ARROWS 2007 Tour and / or love the SNAKES & ARROWS , album this is a must have!!! Not only for the more powerful / improved sounding , SNAKES & ARROWS , songs live but for all of the other older songs that sound so fresh and updated.

RUSH , have gotten their live sound and their live performance , right on , this time!!!

I never thought that they would have recorded a better sounding live albums than the , DIFFERENT STAGES and R30th ANNIVERSARY Live CDs. They have done just that.

SNAKES & ARROWS : LIVE , is a real treat for new and long time fans.

The other excellent news is that the , SNAKES & ARROWS : LIVE DVD , for the 2007 tour is coming out in the fall of , 2008. GEDDY , said this in a recent 2008 , N.A. Tour , interview.

Rush refreshed
There was no way i wasn't going to buy this CD, and I'm pretty sure there won't be many converts, but to me this is a rewarding rush live release. If you like Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Snakes & Arrows this is your live tour. The latter is their best studio album since Signals. The set picks its way through the difficult eighties & ninties synth but those songs included from this era come across well. There's no Xanadu, 2112 and early stuff but at least there are no joke interpretations and compilations to hide their boredom with these songs. Although i had massive anticipation of the R30 tour I found this tour and it's CD record more in spirit with the Rush i like.
