Read the description carefully, this is an extremely short DVD2
I bought the 2 disc + graphic novel version of 30 Days of night and I saw this next to it. It has a great cover and bears the legend "A chilling companion to the movie and graphic novel" so I bought both.
On the back it says "The cult mini-series prequel to 30DoN" and lists some special features, looked OK, so I watched this first.
The action was Ok, plenty gore....hang on, here's the credits! Then I checked the back and it dawned on me. In very small print it says "feature run time 39 mins approx". Cult mini series prequel?, a collection of teaser trailers....yes, mini series....no way.
The Amazon info shows as 27 minutes which is probably the running time of the 7 short episodes together. On the extras side there are a few very short interviews.
What you have here is something that is interesting but should have been included within the 2 disc package as an extra and NOT sold as a separate disc with misleading packaging. It's not a complete con, but it will no doubt feel that way after watching it. As a scene setter you get a general idea of what the movie will be like and it is a twist on most vampire tales but this disc itself is not something I will be watching again.
Pay any more than a couple of quid and you may feel cheated. For completists only.

Hardcore 30 days fans need apply!4
These are webisodes taken loosly from the comics by the same name and on that note expect short 7-8 min episodes that have been well directed, acted and have great attention to detail. Not many are into webisodes (I wasnt until I saw these) as they are a new thing so only buy if you enjoy the comics, movie or an avid fan. Clearly 30 days of night isnt Buffy as these vampires are a bit more scary and gross so dont be expecting what those below this review were probably expecting...probably not worth bitchin about as its under a fiver and would serve next to the movie and rumored sequel. Sam Raimi's company Ghosthouse clearly had faith in these webisodes as its right on the sleeve of the DVD so take a chance with these.

blood trails - 30 days of night1
Avoid this...its a complete waste of money and time...one is led to believe there is a feature like an episode of Buffy...but its incredibly noisy and disjointed...it should say Blood Trailers...because thats what it is...and it should not be associated with the film...it really has nothing to do with it....I shall dump my copy into a boot sale...or charity shop and tell them to give it away with any vampire film they may have ...so beware of this item being sold in woolworths and other stores.
