Gin and tonic please,...no just one!
Matt Berry is a unique song writer and an exceptional comedy presense.
This album Opium is a fantastic and at the same time cheesey 70's glam, progressive rock fuelled mind screw. The whole album is built around the concept of what goes through the mind of a Hangman, as well as Mr Berry's own personal thoughts on his career. The highliight of this album for me is the fantastic intoduction. It screams 70's rock opera.
Buy it...pour yourself a WHISKEY and indulge in a personal journey!

I bought this primarily due to having enjoyed Matt Berry's musical score for Snuff Box. I was initially slightly put off by the rather unusual tone, but after a while I found it really growing on me.

Stand-out tracks include 'Reach for the Ground' and 'Love is a Fool' (and 'Love is a Fool (Again)'), which later evolved into the Snuff Box theme - though it's a shame the extended mix of the theme isn't available anywhere.

Well written, performed and produced, this is an unusual, vibrant, and occasionally amusing album that I recommend to anyone with a taste for the unusual.

so very strange
very difficult to describe! bought this along with snuff box after loving darkplace. im pretty sure i like it, although still very very confused! just love the guys voice, its almost a will ferrell type quality, as in his face just makes you laugh, berry has the same quality in his voice. very funny and also very catchy. runs flight of the conchords very close, but just comes second. excellent
