Synopsis
Held at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, the wrestling championship ARMAGEDDON 2007 puts the biggest names in the WWE through the most harrowing of challenges such as the Inferno, Tag Team, and Last Ride Matches. Who will receive Gregory Helms' long-held Cruiserweight championship title after the wrestler was put out of action for a year following a crippling neck injury? Chris Jericho also returns in his first pay per view since 2005 in a bout against Randy Orton.

Customer Reviews

a great way to say goodbye to the year 4
It appears that i am the first to review this so i hope i can set a trend here and help others buy this event or avoid, you aint read my review yet, hold your horses, the final event of 2007 is armaggedon and all three brands took part to create what was essentially a good event, scratch that it was a very good event.
The event opened with the united states title going up for grabs, the champ MVP going up against the more than capable rey mysterio. This match was very good, lots of ability, pretty technical and on the money precision, granted there was a cowards ending but this was a fine opener.
Next up was a tag team match between cm punk and kane versus mark henry and big daddy v,this match was actually good, many would look at it and see 3 big bruisers and one lightweight contestant and think this would be an awkward, trying to move mountains kinda match but this was good and the match worked so there you go,i guess we cant always predict a match and how it goes then.
Shawn michaels was pitted against mr kennedy next, this was a good match,i think we all knew it would be,kennedy played his injured hand part to perfection and adapted his style well and hbk gave an almost flawless performance as usual, these two share in ring chemistry and this led to a good match yet again.
Next up was a match where the winner got title shot at the royal rumble, this match doesnt sit comfortably with me,in a way triple h was a bit of a rollover, almost passing the torch to jeff hardy, willing him on to beat him,to get meaner and forget their friendship,i didnt like that element,as far as the match goes,it was ok but not a classic by any means.
Finlay and the great khali were up next in a match that was ok but didnt blow my eyes out of the sockets, this feud didnt last long and it is clear why and hornswoggle was getting too much exposure at this juncture and was unsettling the apple cart in my opinion.
The WWE championship was contested next, randy orton as champ went up against chris jericho, jericho was spoon fed this opportunity, rarely before has a man come back to the WWE,four weeks prior to this in fact and been given so much so soon,a title shot in this case, this match was ok but was much ado about nothing in the end,jbl got involved which was the best thing mainly, not a mind keeper in truth but plenty of stuff happened.
The WWE womans title was up next, the champ beth phoenix vs mickie james, this was ok,beth is some force and she is nice the eye as well and she did her best to beat the highlights out of mickie james hair,ok.
The main event was up next for the world heavyweight title and was a triple threat match, the champ batista defended it against the undertaker and edge, this was always gonna be a good match,we all knew it and it was, plenty of differing techniques were brought to the fore, and lots of aggression and activity meant that this was a great main event, the major brothers got involved which confused the issue and meant that there was shocks in store,a good main event and a great way to close 2007.

A GOOD PPV.................................5
An enjoyable PPV which terminated 2007 in style.
First on the bill was MVP vs Rey Mysterio. Two excellent wrestlers who did not disappoint.
The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix vs Mickie James was better than some of the Diva matches which totally lack substance.
Finlay & Hornswoggle vs the Great Khali was surprisingly watchable.
HBK vs Mr Kennedy was well up to par.
Rising star, C.M. Punk and Kane vs Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. There was a lot of weight pounding the canvas, but it was a decent effort. Kane never disappoints and C.M. Punk is talented, but they were up against half a ton of brutality. Nevertheless it was thoroughly entertaining.
Triple H vs Jeff Hardy. Jeff was not keen on fighting his friend and Hunter had to egg him on. These guys never let us down and it was a terrific match.
Randy Orton vs Y2J. Two talented wrestlers who performed superbly.
Topping the bill was a triple threat match - Edge vs Batista vs The Undertaker. There were no surprises here but Edge stole it for me.
All in all, it was well worth watching.
