Colour isn't the only brilliant new iPod Nano feature. For those about to rock, we give you nine amazing colours. But that’s only part of the story. Feel the curved, all-aluminum and glass design and you won’t want to put iPod nano down. The accelerometer comes to iPod nano. Give it a shake to shuffle your music. Turn it sideways to view Cover Flow. And play games designed with your moves in mind. The new Genius feature turns iPod nano into your own highly intelligent, personal DJ. It creates playlists by finding songs in your library that go great together.
![]() | A musical Genius. Say you’re listening to a song you really like and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. It’s like having your own highly intelligent, personal DJ. | ![]() | Shake your groove thing. Sometimes, we could all use a little unpredictability. And now you can shake to shuffle your music. Just give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You’ll always be surprised by what you’ll hear. |
![]() | Rock and roll over. Tilt or turn iPod nano on its side, and you’ll listen, watch, and play in new ways. You can flip through your album art with Cover Flow. Or, vertically speaking, see more albums and artists on the screen at one time. |
![]() | Let the games begin. Now you can get in on games made especially for iPod nano and the accelerometer. They respond to the way you move, so they’re immersive, addictive, and a blast. iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store. |
![]() | Even your photos rock. Pull hundreds of photos from your pocket and share them wherever you go. Hold iPod nano upright and see your photos in portrait view. Turn it on its side to see them in landscape. Your photos look beautiful in their proper aspect ratio on the vibrant, 320-by-240-resolution display |
![]() | World’s biggest small screen. Watching movies, TV shows, and videos is big fun on iPod nano. And the high-resolution picture looks crisp and vivid on the 2-inch widescreen display. So you can always have a little video with you. |

Brilliant Little Player
I bought the aluminium Nano as a birthday present for my wife following the massive let down of a Creative Zen player and it's the mutt's nuts! It feels well made, though incredibly light, it's easy to set up, the user interface, as with all iPods, is easy to use and the sound quality is fantastic. Add into that a couple of games and the new 'Genius' function and you've got everything you could want from an MP3 player. Plus this charged on all of my existing docking stations, from the cheap to the not-so-cheap!
Looks good...but fatally flawed.
My Nano (3g) got mangled so I bought this. Great to look at and nice little features. So on the face of it this is a good little machine.
Then I plugged it into the dock in the car....The thing said that charging was NOT supported....I use the ipod in the car 99% of the time, bought a new radio which proudly stated it was designed for Ipod then found this generation has removed the charging facility......Apple what are you thinking? Pity really but, for me it is a fatal flaw.
Anyhow, sold the Ipod and bought a 3rd gen one again which does everything I want and remains charged through the day.
Unable to charge on BOSE system
I had to replace my ipod Nano recently and am very disappointed that on my BOSE docking system the Nano will not charge !!!! Neither will it charge up on my car adaptor.
I need to but a mains charger for it or just rely on recharging from the USB .
It's a great MP3 other than that !
