Synopsis
The early 90s sitcom DESMOND'S followed the lives of staff and customers who frequented the South London barbershop owned by grumpy Desmond Ambrose (Norman Beaton) and his sweetnatured wife, Shirley (Carmen Munroe). Among the inspired supporting players were the Ambroses' uptight son, Michael (Geff Francis), and the zany Caribbean immigrant Porkpie (Ram John Holder). Though the series was cancelled after Beaton's untimely death, it remains a beloved and nostalgic favourite for its warmhearted look at black family life. This collection features the entire second series.

Brilliant
Just as I remembered it. A lot of old television comedy does not stand the test of time. Desmond's is the exception and still as gently funny now as it was originally.

Good old comedy
you cant beat a good old comdey. Its exactly how i remember it. Pork pie and matthew are soooo funny.

Great ! Worth every penny
Still as good as when I saw it on TV years and years ago. It is great that the series have come out on DVD .....finally.
