Exceptional device. I was searching for a bluetooth wireless device. The options that I found were pretty expensive. When I looked at the specs of Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless, I was amazed at the utility of the device at a reasonable price too. I have used the device flawlessly with excellent, crystal-clear reception in all parts of the house including upstairs & out of house in the garden! Amazingly easy 'plug & play'. No software required. Very comfy earphones with adjustable headset. The controls for volume & mute on R headphone are very convenient. Very clever mute function as you can 'see' the red light at microphone tip during conversation hence allowing you to mute/unmute easily. Pretty good talk-time too; never ran out of battery during conversation.
I think it's an ideal hands-free device to use with PC programs like msn messenger, yahoo, all VOIPs etc.
I reccomend this... maybe
-Ignore if your planning to use with a Mac OS-
To be honest this headset is a double edged sword. Easy plug and play, comfortable, simple to use and a decent quality of reception (at least in my environment and I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse right next to it).
HOWEVER!! *Got you attention? Right* I can only recommend this product to more advanced system users. I has one potential problem in that it uses native XP or Vista drivers instead of coming with its own software. This means that it is treated in many respects, like an external sound card. This means that if you want to switch to your headphones you will have to access your systems sounds settings, change the headphones to the default device and reboot any software currently producing sound and vice versa. With some simple forethought and a shortcut straight to the sounds control panel this isn't much of a problem.
If you didn't understand that or can't be bothered with any of that lark then I can't recommend this headset. This is not the headset for you. Its not that its bad, quite the contrary. You just need to know what your doing to get the most out of it.
Best headset I've tried
Just received my headset (after long release date delay from Logitech ... March 2008???). I have to say these are the dog buzzocks. Only more comfortable and less hairy.
But seriously, super comfortable on the ears. The controls couldn't be any easier (volume and mute mic). There wasn't even an installation disc and setup to run. Just plug usb in and go (well, charge a bit first).
Sound is nice and crisp for what it is (= stereophiles buy some propa music listening headphones).
Haven't had any interference yet and mic is spot on with a nice mute button . Easy.
Very well designed.
