slow start, then wow!
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was recommended to us by a friend, the cover does'nt do the film any favours, and after the first 15 minutes i thought we had bought a duff film, then wow! it grabbed us. i will write the description from the rear of the dvd as none is written on amazons page:
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a sweet tale of friendship and love. Rahul (shahrukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) are inseparable friends at college. unknown to Rahul Anjali is in love with him who inturn falls head over heels in love for a new student Tina (Rani Mukherji). when Anjali learns the truth, she is heart broken and leaves college. In the meantime Rahul and Tina get married.
Nine years have now passed and Rahul is a Single parent after Tinas death. What has become of Anjali? what is Rahuls daughter upto? Who is Aman? the plot unravels in a dramatic climax and alls well that ends well.
I can only say that this film is fabulous and well worth watching, it now ranks as one of our favourite of all films and its only our second " bollywood" film. The actors, after a slow start, engage you and you feel the whole journey, its normal for me to shead a tear at the end of a really good film, and im not ashamed to admit it! but its a first for me to shead them at many points during the film!
Even though it's ageing its still solid entertaining Bollywood
I think the plot for this is well described by other reviewers. I just want to add weight to the high rating and say that we found this one a solid entertainer. The actors are very good (you can't go past Shahrukh, Kajol, Rani as the core trio (also Salman Khan). I cared about the characters and got hooked into the emotion of the script.
Definitely a good one to catch if you like Bollywoods. It is about the connection between young people, romance and the usual Bollywood playing with your emotions. Even though the movie is getting older I think it is standing to test of time reasonably well. Recommended.
Greeeeaaaattt movie
Cant beat the classics!!!!great movie, great story of unrequited love
Kajol was at her best in this movie (when she is out of high school)
A generally good all round family film for the kids as well as older the older audience.
Trust me youll laugh, smile, cry and rejoice all at the same time for this movie
