Synopsis
The Osmonds' remarkable success story reached its 50th year with this grandiose Las Vegas celebration. The group shot to fame in the early 1970s with a string of hit singles, solo careers, numerous TV appearances, and even their own cartoon series. This show was originally shot for a PBS special, and is marked by a hit-packed set list from Donny, Jimmy, Marie, Alan, Jay, Wayne, and Merrill. A number of songs that didn't make the original broadcast are also included.
Customer Reviews
Good but could have been better
I actually liked watching the DVD and to hear the comments from the family themselves is an added bonus. But if anybody expects music from start to finish they will be disappointed. Two discs is a good idea but keep the music on one disc and conversation & comments on the other.
disappointed but-
Yes I was slightly disappointed at the content of the dvd,but only because I went to the concert at Wembly so expected it to be similar. However I found the interviews interesting(apart from Andy Williams)and the songs were performed well, the atmosphere WAS missing
but as it was filmed in Las Vegas I'm assuming it was a lounge type place rather than a big arena.I'm sure they performed more of their hits which should have been included as it's a 2 dvd presentation.
A disappointing release
Spread over two DVDs, the first is, I think, a US TV special with a lot of talking and not enough of the actual concert. The second disc has more music but split into clips rather than one cohesive show. Total content is under two hours so not the bargain the double packaging might suggest. A single disc could have had the show uninterrupted with the other content as extras. Also, as the previous reviewer has noted, the sound level is pitched too low. It's just about worth the price for diehard Osmonds fans but you're likely to be disappointed
