Editorial Reviews

CD Description
After the breakup of the phenomenally successful Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland kept a relatively low profile, at leastcompared to group-mate Beyonce, whose celebrity status as asolo artist cast a big shadow. Rowland cast some shadows ofher own, however, with 2007's MS. KELLY, a wholly satisfying showcase for the singer's particular take on contemporary R&B. Cameos from Eve, Snoop Dogg, and Tank keep the energy high, but MS. KELLY is Rowland's show through and through. With equal attention to both thumping club tracks (the album'slead-off single "Like This") and smooth, downtempo balladry("The Show"), this solo effort pushes Rowland into some well-deserved limelight. This deluxe edition also includes bonus remixes.

Worth another shot!!4
This album is not being re-issued because the original was bad, simply because the original was ignored. Why is anyone's guess because it was a solid album. Significant changes have been made to this version however. Seven of the tracks from Ms Kelly have been wiped and replaced with 5 new songs and 2 remixes - the 'Work' remix which has already gone top 5 and a 'Comeback' remix which adds a more dance feel to the original.
The new tracks are all down-tempo, inspired by heartbreak, with the exception of 'Daylight' which is the current single and has a very up-lifting, fun, happy feel to it which will no doubt bring a smile to your face. The down-tempos are surprisingly good, especially 'Broken' and 'Unity' which sound like something which could have been on her first album only much, much better.
Overall this is a great re-work of an already good album. It's got a very different feel to it than the last 'Ms Kelly' so in actuality you are nearly getting a totally new album so in my opinion this album is very much worth the listen. It now contains the three singles to date 'Like Thos' 'Work (rmx)' and 'Daylight' but the first version is also worth a look in. It has a more rn'b/hip-hop flavour which has been toned down in this version. They have left out some amazing tracks from the original which shouldn 't be missed. Here's hoping this puts Kelly where she deserves to be.

What a let down...2
I think that Kelly has done a major injustice to herself by re-issuing this album.

The original version of this album was such a departure from her first album and saw Kelly try her hand at music you would associate with Rhianna, Beyonce etc and yet these songs i.e Still in Love With My Ex, Comeback and Ghetto, have been removed from this re-issue and have been replaced with run of the mill, bland ballads.

I would suggest that anyone interested in purchasing this album, buy the original, it is far, far better!!!

Reissue with a twist. 5
Yes this is a reissue, I initially thought that it was only going to be available as a digital release, not physical so I was really exited when I found out that it was available to buy physical. If like me you enjoyed the original version then this is a must have, some of the songs off the original album have not been included instead the new songs have replaced them, usually on a reissue its about adding material to the original not taking it away.
The single `Daylight' that is being used to promote the reissued version is styled around easy going Sunday morning soul and is super chilled out, I'm glad Kelly included the songs `Like this', `This is love' and `Work' because in my opinion they are some of the best songs off the original. Finally my only concern on this album is the two remixes, remixes aren't proper songs, are often drawn out affairs and generally are not as well received, but for the sake of the 5 new songs I would recommend it.
