Editorial Reviews
CD Description
Iranian expat Leila Arab had been dormant for eight or so years, but returned with 2008's BLOOD, LOOMS & BLOOMS. It's along record that's ripe with what the producer does best: lush tracks that alternate between gently pulsating and quietly somber--often elegiac, and mostly gorgeous. She brings ina long list of vocalists to bring her songs to life. There's a winning cover of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood" featuringvocals by Luca Santucci, and former Special Terry Hall similarly lends his pipes to a few tracks. The guests make the album feel nearly like a compilation, and ensure that Leila doesn't get pigeonholed into a niche sound.
Customer Reviews
Breathtaking - like a fairytale for grown ups
It's been a long time since Leila's previous album but this record is still as exciting and relevant as Like Weather was almost 10 years ago. Some incredible guest vocalists (Martina Topley-Bird and Terry Hall, Luca Santucci and even Leila's sister) add a little spice to the playful, offbeat and sometimes disturbing texture of melodies and beats. More than an electronica record - avoid at your peril!
Wow
This is a truly brilliant electronic album,if you like the scary side of the genre, then this is a must,i'am just pondering "shall I give it five stars?" it's honestly that good!
