Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Little Richard scored six Top 40 US hits in 1956, a time when rock and roll was seen almost entirely as a singles propelled musical movement. This success prompted Specialty Records, who had Little Richard under exclusive licence, to gather together the best of the singles and build an album around them. The result was Here's Little Richard, released in July 1957. Even now, more than fifty years later and after a career spanning five decades, Here's Little Richard remains his most important and vital album. Indeed, it is still the best selling album of his career, reaching number thirteen on the Billboard charts when originally released (by comparison, Little Richard has enjoyed only two further US hit albums, and both barely made the Top 200!). There again, any album that contains such groundbreaking tracks as Tutti Frutti, Long Tall Sally and Rip It Up would expect to perform well.

pointless1
don't buy this unless you like appalling sound quality...clearly made by a cheap brand who have exploited its 50 year copyright expiry and flogged me a cd which is filled with admittedly classic tunes at way below par standard...my advice is buy the expensive equivalent or wait for something better to be released...five stars for the album itself which is great, but one star for the exceptionally awful sound
