Customer Reviews

Good not great!3
A 'good' selection from Jazzie B rather than a great one. I was disappointed as I felt a lot of the tracks were weaker than the ones he plays on his excellent Saturday night radio show (94.9 BBC London) 10.00. This collection is at its best when it goes down the Lovers Rock route and stays away from Dee Jays like I Roy and Tapper Zuki. Standout tracks are from Horace Andy, Gregory Issacs and the wonderful 'Reggae Feeling' from Freddie McGregor. This is a Trojan collection and perhaps, ultimately, Trojan was a slightly weaker label than Ark or Studio 1. Still worth buying.

School days...get it ?5
I am about the same age as jazzy b,the point of this album is that these were the records we grew up listening to, when i look at the tracks listed,it takes me back to my formative years, the memories come flooding back, these are all favorites from back in the day, it is that simple.
As i grew a little older i went to the africa centre and got some more of jazzy b's good vib music (trevor nelson when he was trevor "mad hatter" too) good days !
So with due respect, this album hits the spot with "old folk" like myself where others may have to ask why these tracks. Peace
