Logictech Webcam S55005
Great webcam, visual and audio really good. Easy to set up and use. I bought this for my uncle (72 years old) who is just getting to grips with modern technology. He had no problem setting it up and is really pleased with the results. If he can do it it's got to be foolproof. He is amazed that it allows him to speak and see his grandchildren who live hundreds of miles away. He gives this webcam 10 out of 10

Fiddly installation, but great cam!4
I bought this webcam being impressed with the reviews i saw on Amazon.
I was impressed with the design of it, the camera is easily adjustable to fit onto anything, especially the top of a laptop screen, and the added built in mic is handy. The privacy shade is also a nice feature as you can cover the lens and not have to feel like you're on display when you're not using it.
The problem i found was i had to reinstall the drivers and software numerous times for the camera to actually be recognized by the computer.
I am not sure why this happened as i followed the instructions, but all i can say now is it is finally working and has been worth the hassle as it is a great quality webcam.
Just hope the installation for other buyers will be more simple than what i had it.

Much better than earlier webcams5
I bought this as my previous camera (also a Logitech quickcam) didn't have 64bit drivers. So I started off quite frustrated that I was just replacing something that worked already.

Well, actually the technology has got a lot better. In particular, rightlight (or maybe just a newer sensor) seems to make a big difference in improving picture quality when subjects are lit from behind. The autofocus is actually better than fixed focus lenses. So videoconferencing has got a lot better. Summary: if you think all webcams are 'about the same', there is a difference even for plain old IM videoconferencing.
