Synopsis
Dean and Sam Winchester are two brothers with a special talent. Well-versed in the supernatural after their father became convinced that their mother was captured by unholy spirits, Dean and Sam dedicated their young lives to hunting down these otherworldly terrors. But adulthood saw Sam drift away from these preternatural activities, instead choosing to settle down in a life of domestic bliss with his girlfriend. But when the Winchesters' dad goes missing, both Dean and Sam know what they have to do, leading to some epic cross-country trips as the brothers try to find their father. This release includes every episode from series 1 to 3.

Good scary fun - it's a bit too creepy for pre-teens though
All three seasons for £25, and that's 22 episodes in season 1 [6 DVDs: 895 minutes], 22 episodes in season 2 [6 DVDs: 866 minutes], and 16 episodes in season 3 [5 DVDs: 624 minutes]. Total run time 40 hours. The episodes are all wide-screen and subtitles are available in English or Dutch, plus there's Dolby 2 surround sound. Each season comes in it's own DVD case with a 4 page booklet outlining all the episodes. The three DVD cases slide [rather tightly] into an attractive cardboard sleeve.

Sam and Dean are brothers who grew up with their dad who has been hunting evil for 22 years, in fact ever since their mum was incinerated by something nasty on the ceiling [when Sam was a baby]. But that's all in the past, and young Sam is now happily studying law at university. Then his estranged brother Dean appears with troubling news: dad has gone missing. After another nasty incineration or two, Sam and Dean restart the family business and go off in search of dad. Using the secret skills their father taught them they confront a terrifying array of malevolent creatures and spirits, in fact all manner of things Supernatural. Plus they have to deal with their dysfunctional family's 'issues' [for a few minutes every episode].

The two lead young men are great fun and the series is actually quite creepy. It's clearly made on a budget, but the lack of special effects often heightens the tension as you can't quite see what's lurking in the shadows. Yes this is serious TV; all shot in darkness with torches that only seem to illuminate a shaft of light rather than the foul creature lurking three feet away. Every episode seems to have the obligatory line 'Lets split up and you take the cellars'. OK, it's all in very familiar X-Files, Poltergeist, The Frighteners, Predator, Nightmare on Elm Street and Buffy territory, and often the script seems directly lifted from one of these sources, but it's still great fun [and great value as this DVD set]. I got this three season Supernatural set for my daughter [age 14] on the strength of other reviews here, as she was really fed up that 'The Dresden Files' had been cancelled [check that series out as well, it's even better than Supernatural]. She fancied this DVD set, so it duly arrived and she really likes it [it probably helps that she hasn't watched any X-Files, Halloween, Predator, etc..]. Only downside is that she found Supernatural far more frightening than Charmed and The Dresden Files, so I have to sit in and watch all the episodes with her. Hence the 15 rating I suppose. Still she loves the series [when watching with company]. Spooky & Highly recommended.

Fantastic Value
I love my TV shows, I'm a big fan of PRISON BREAK, 24, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, SMALLVILLE, MY NAME IS EARL, LOST.

I'm always on the lookout for a new show, and I downloaded all three seasons of Supernatural after reading good things on it on IMDB. What happened though was I watched the first three episodes and straight away I loved it. I searched it up on Amazon and I couldn't believe the price. £28 for all three seasons! So I ordered it straight away.

I was a little apprehensive though at first has I thought all three seasons were going to come in one big box, and I like my TV shows to have individual boxes for each season, so I was really happy when it arrived and the main case was a slip case with individual cases for each season. There very smart cases as well.

I've watched the opening 15 episodes and its a fantastic show, very different to all the other shows I watch. The two main characters are extremely likable. I don't normally like scary films or TV shows, but this is extremely addictive. Some episodes are very scary and some are just funny.

Overall this is a fantastic value box set.

Supernatural
This is a great boxset and is amazing value for money. Its action packed and hilarious and had me and my sister entertained for hours. It has three complete season and great special features including a hilarious gag real. Great buy.
