wwe backlash 20093
1. MVP vs. Matt Hardt. U.S Title Match
This was an excellent opener. The pace was right, each men had the upper hand a few times. But mostly it was 2 men giving it their all and the result was very entertaining. A great way to start. (8/10).

2. Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero. ECW Title Match
Unfortunatley tis wasn't as good as the opener. It was far to slow and boring, both didn't look like they were trying. (4/10).

3. Big Show vs. The Great Khali.
This was your classic big man match here. 2 men lugging their heavy bodies around the ring at 0.3 mph. What I'm trying to say is that this was a waste of space. (2/10).

4. Batista vs. Shawn Micheals. Chris Jericho was Special Guest Referee.
Here is a case of power vs. experience. But it was nothing like I expected. It was 2 of the most successful superstars in the wwe going head to head and it was boring. HBK tried to ground Batista to much. Only at the end did it start to pick up but not by much. (4/10).

5. 12 Diva tag match.
Even though it was a card filler it really turned the PPV around. The match had 2 key moments. No.1: was when all 12 had a small riot onthe outside and No.2: was when every diva hit a finishing manouvere 1 after the other which eventually leads to the end of the match. (8/10).

6. Undertaker ns . Edge. World Heavyweight Title Match.
This match was a classic, not good enough to win MOTY but still extremely entertaining. Edge's 'henchmen' Hawkins and Ryder tried to interfere but both attempts were futile. (9/10).

7. Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. JBL. Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match for WWE Title.
This match was truly electrifying. Now this is a MOTY contender. 2 sudden eliminations and then a tense showdown between The Game and The Legend Killer. (10/10).

Overall I'd give Backlash a 7/10 due to a few dissapointinh matches but 2 wonderful main events.

half good,half bad 2
Backlash 2008 followed a fine wrestlemania so expectations were high but no one really expected it to better mania but there was some great quality at times and some very average scenes.
The event opened with the united states championship on the line, the champion MVP had it all to do against a vengeful matt hardy who had revenge still on his mind, the match wasnt great as it slowed down to a walk all too often but there was some great spots in it,it was an acceptable opener but didnt light up the room.
The ECW championship was up for grabs next, the champ kane had to fight the man that he fought in wrestlemania, chavo. This match was at least a contest and both men had moments of domination but when you break it down this was average and nothing more.
Another average to poor match followed as the big show fought the great khali, this was as per usual,a standard big man match, with both men slapping and whacking and huffing and puffing and not more more, there isnt alot to report here except that you have seen this match before, you really have.
Thats three matches into the bill and i still havent gone mad for a match,oh no,can the next match change the trend?i would say yes.Shawn michaels fought batista with chris jericho, who basically started this feud as guest ref.Jericho played his role with no bias which was a bit odd,but the match itself was good,it was hard to see who would win this as it went one way then the next and you could sense that each man hated the other,a clever ending to what was the first great match of the night.
A twelve diva tag match was up next spanning the three brands, does that sound good, nope, then you are correct, next!
The world heavyweight title was up next as the champ, undertaker went up against edge in a repeat from wrestlemania and just like that match this was a great match, similar in other ways as well but always proving that these two could put on one hell of a match,a contest to remember indeed, bravo, bravo!
A fatal four way for the WWE championship ended the night, the men were made up of the champ randy orton, triple H,john cena and JBL.Two of the men went early enough,i trust i wont get scolded for releasing that information and then we were left with one hell of a battle for the title,it was non stop action and left the crowd beaten down,it truly was an epic contest that showcased the talents of the Raw brand nicely,i loved it.
This pay per view was far from perfect but contained some great quality along with some matches that werent pay per view quality,2.5 stars and worth a gamble perhaps.

A solid PPV4
MVP vs Matt Hardy - United States title:

Good opener & good match, both guys had good chemistry. It was good to see Matt win the U.S title but i felt that he should have won a mid card title a long time ago. 3/5

Kane vs Chavo Guerrero - ECW title:

This was suprisinly a decent match, nothing really special. Chavo did some good stuff by countering some moves by Kane. It ends to Kane giving Chavo a chokeslam 2/5

Big Show vs The Great Khali:

This was terrible and very slow, but it was very intresting to see these two giants face each other. It ends with Big Show giving Khali a chokeslam. 1/5

Batista vs Shawn Micheals - Chris Jericho special guest referee:

This was good, Micheals pretty much carried Batista in this match in my opinion. I like ending when Micheals injured the knee & gave Batista Sweet Chin Music. 3/5

12 Diva Tag Team match:

This was not bad, Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Melina, & Michelle McCool did some good stuff in the ring. Beth gave Ashley a nice Fisherwomen suplex to win the match. 2.5/5

Undertaker vs Edge - World title:

Good match, but not as good as their match at Wrestlemania. I liked the part where Edge counterd the Last ride into a sunset flip, but Taker ends up giving him the Gogoplata to pick up the victory. 4/5

Randy Orton vs John Cena vs Triple H vs JBL - Fatal Four Way Elimination match for the WWE title :

I felt that the elimination were kinda rush, i was ok with JBL getting eliminated but they should have kept Cena in this match for 5 mins. Orton & HHH puted on a good match and lots finishers reversed during this match. HHH kicks out of the RKO and ends up giving Orton the Pedigree to win the WWE title. 4/5

This PPV was good but not as good as the previous Backlash. So, i think it deserves an 8/10.
