Spyro Dawn of the Dragon
I got this Over in the U.S while i was on holiday.
Spyro dawn of the dragon continues With the story from eternal night, where cinder and spyro were frozen in a collapsing mountain. The new features of this game is now that you can fly anytime, and there is a 2 player mode, so you can fight through the game together. There is about an hours of movies in this game and the story line really is great. The game is not too short, the clock on the game said i completed in about 12 Hours. What i Did notice that was different from the New beginning and eternal night, is that there is a lot more puzzles to the game, Like having to find ways to open door, Its hard to explain but you will notice this when you play the game.
Dawn Of The Legend
Now I've never thought to much of spyro games but after playing this I was blown away. Fantastic gripping story, beautiful graphics and additive gameplay was far from what I was expecting but was dead on what this game delivers.
The 2 player mode is totally awesome and I would highly recommend you play this with a friend, unlike most 2 player games where player 2 is just an extra thrown in, here both characters are key to the story and have a lot of personality.
Spyro & Cynder are 2 very lovable characters and you really feel for them throughout the game and its such a joy to watch their relationship grow across the trilogy.
Yea people can slam it for being short, but honestly most games nowadays on "next gen consoles" are pretty short compared to the old days. And this easily makes up for that with its great story and graphics, and anyway I wouldn't say it's that short, around average length.
Check it out for yourself, it's a real fun heart warming action adventure for all ages.
Its something different from most of the stuff out there at the moment and trust me, you won't regret it.
Oh and another big thing, you can fly anytime now which rocks :D
Extremely satisfied!
I've been a fan of Spyro since i was a child, one of my very first games being the original Spyro and circulating up to Year of The Dragon, and I remember all 3 games brilliantly - simply because they were just that great.
Recently I took up the challenge of finding YOTD yet again, and to my dismay mr.PS2 has given up on me - so I decided, let's look it up. I found the new "The Legend Of Spyro" series and thought, "well why not..."
I've yet to play Eternal Nights (gap in story on my part... i've got the beginning and the end... xD)
This game is just awesome, to put it simply... the controls at first may feel a little foreign if you're not used to them, but they're so easy to pick up. Both playable characters are seen in-depth and in co-op, it's no longer "oh, i'm playing with you..... *runs a mile away to kill one enemy*" now, both players are MADE to stay near one another and work together... no spoilers just in case ;)
This games graphics are fantastic, and the story itself is just brilliant.
I could continue, but i'll stop and explain why 4* and not 5* ...
Once this game was completed on my part, i was... for some reason, left this feeling of "that's over. what now?" and i don't mean, ok what can i go play on next, it just seemed to leave some gap, something wasn't there, no REAL closure. the game wasn't overly short or anything either, and i could quite happily play through it again... see what i mean?
Either way, this game is fantastic and practically a steal for £14. If you're a fan of puzzles etc. this may not be the entire game for you, this is an action/adventure(platformer?)/puzzle game. So if you like all of these genres, you'll most likely enjoy this game.
