Customer Reviews
For true racing enthusiasts!
I am not normally one who can be bothered with contributing to the trivial reviews of the populace. However, I feel that a trend is evolving for inadequate reviews by people (cf previous reviewer) who appear incapable of assessing a game over a few hours let alone a few days.
Speaking as someone in the latter category I can honestly say this is one of the most desireable departures from the "racing norm". It has an exceptional career mode (range of cars and their individual dynamics as well as the beauty of the individual closed-circuit and point-to-point tracks). The career mode is incentivised better than its competitors. In addition, one of the most remarkable and unique aspects is the "solid" nature of the track competitors in the career and online mode of this rally game (cf CM DIRT).
In short, for the price of £30, the gameplay and game evolution are exceptional (cf Rallisport Challenge II). The online component is fun and will grow with game uptake.
Good graphics (that improve as the game progresses - pay attention to the graphics gamma-setting) enjoyable music and excellent physics.
If you are a true afficioanado of the racing genre - buy it now - you won't be dissapointed!!
Not as good as i hoped
I brought this game after seeing it on various websites and thought it looked like it could be a good game. The back of the box must be for a different game as the actual games graphics i feel are very poor for the xbox 360, if this had been one of the very first launch titles this could be forgiven but we're years into the release of the 360 and these sort of graphics to me feel more like standard xbox.
The game is cheaper than your average game but still overpriced for what it is, i think 20 or 25quid would be better suited. I'm not one to try a game and give up on it after ten mins despite how rubbish it may be, however an hour and a half in i really could not get to grips with this game and found myself getting more and more annoyed with it.
The handling is tough but you do soon pick up on it, be warned it is a high difficulty level even if you set it on the lowest level the races are tough. I found myself spinning out a lot and cursing at my tv as a result of this.
The colours are incredibly bright in this, almost looks cartoony with all its bright colours - bearing in mind i have my tv levels set low so that normally my games are duller than they should be i was suprised how much the cars stuck out, i personally didnt like this but some may prefer this.
I think i brought this hoping for something similar to the career mode in flatout ultimate carnage, which i enjoyed playing a lot, however this is nothing like flatout and unfortunately was a HUGE let down to me.
- Poor Graphics
- Slow Loading Times
- Bit pricey for its quality
Baja xbox360
Bought this after reading various mixed reviews but so glad I took the plunge.Steep learning curve is more a way of getting to grips with your Bug bouncing about and it wont be long before you are winning races(not on hard tho). Not much happening online tho but split/vertical screen makes up for it.Great fun overall.Claires hubby.
