Impressive pictures but some handling issues
I have used this camera for two months and I am mostly happy with it. I have used the previous Sony T-7 for several years. I am the type of person who prefers to have a really small camera which I bring everywhere. This means that this review tells you what to expect if you are an amateur rather than if you use it in a test lab.
The picture quality is stunning. Not really because of all of the megapixels but the dual stabilizers do a great job resulting in considerably sharper pictures than many similar cameras. The viewfinder is acceptable in most lightning conditions except for a sunny day outdoors. The touch screen controls are somewhat annoying. When you take picture I sometimes accidentally touches a control area which opens a menu to my surprise. The automatic preset selection works fine in many cases, but in some cases it doesn't work at all so you really need to watch out.
The brown color (hey that's why you bought it, right) tends to wear off on the edges but not on the surfaces. Too bad the housing isn't as slim as the T-7 but here is the real benefit: The larger battery makes it possible to take quite a few pictures, as opposed th the T-7 that would constantly run out of batteries.
Overall this is a more balanced but actually less unique camera than the predecessor. Except for the brown color.
