The Black Knight is back like you've never seen him before! From Traveler's Tales, the creators of the Lego Star Wars games, comes Lego Batman. Pulling inspiration from the gamut of bat history, this action-packed Batman experiences lets you play as Bat man, Robin or more than 12 dastardly villains -- all in their super-fun LEGO form!
There's been a big break-out from Arkham Asylum. Batman must again face against classic bad guys and girls like the Joker and Catwoman. Designed for standard two-player, drop-in/out cooperative play, Lego Batman is broken up into 18 levels, with three different story arcs (that's six levels per story arc). Lego Batman lets you play in both hero and villain story modes, as well as a free-play mode. The Batcave serves as the natural hub area for Batman while Arkham Asylum is the hub for villains.
Lego Batman lets you build and take control of Lego versions of your favorite vehicles like the Batmobile, Batboat and the Batwing. As you collect various Lego pieces throughout a level, you'll develop special superhero power suits to give you extra moves. The bad guys come with their own evil perks. For instance, the Joker electrifies enemies and powers machines with his electric buzzer and Harley Quinn soars above other characters with her super-jump.

Holy great gaming Batman!
If you liked Lego Star wars & Indiana Jones, you'll love this.
If you're new to Lego games, what you'll get here is 30 fun packed levels with every villain and hero in the Bat universe, full of laughs and gadgets with hundreds of items to collect. Hours & hours of fun. The two player option lets you play together as a team not against each other, which is great for couples and families alike. Will keep the kids happy for hours and get them working together as team! It's seriously addictive and lots of fun for people of all abilities.
Lego cant do wrong, or anything new
Despite the Lego games being aimed at children, the Star Wars & Indiana Jones games brought out nostalgia in fully grown adults. Its cheeky recreation of classic scenes, combined with the universal appeal of Lego, made this franchise a winner.
Although previous games were good, at times the most memorable moments were the cut scenes. Lego Batman doesn't follow any specific film or timeline in the series, instead capturing as many elements as possible, focusing mainly on the camp 1960s iteration, through to the latest Dark Knight. The plot involves Batman's enemies escaping from Arkham Asylum. Developer Travellers Tales have wisely included as many as possible; from classic villain's Joker & Penguin to the more random Clayface or Mad Hatter. This gives lots of variety when playing Free Play, as many characters have powers specifically linked to them. With Star Wars & Indy, there were only a handful of characters that made a difference to gameplay. Here, theres a much wider selection.
The emphasis is still on building and collecting studs, but playing completed levels from the villain's perspective is a great addition. Obscure moments feature, like getting a disco-dancing robot to flex his moves. It seem at odds with the moody setting, and has nothing to do with Batman. Also, progression usually invloves smashing everything in sight until an object can be built from the wreckage. This simple approach is forgivable, (it is a kids game) yet most of the time, its too imprecise for children and too illogical for adults. Power-suits worn by Batman or Robin do provide some variation to puzzles.
The camera can be problematic, offering limited views and forcing leaps of faith. The darker environments only aggravate matters. Graphics are cute and shiny, exactly as a Lego game should be, and absolutely glows in 1080p.
Vehicle sections will be familiar to anyone who has played Lego Star Wars. They are playable and fun, but the series is retreading old ground here, and is in serious danger of stagnating. Boats, planes and Batmobiles all play identically, which is disappointing. This is likely due to the frequent release schedules. The best in the series, but the next Lego game has to bring something new.
Bat-Tastic!
I am work right now and seriously considering buying the game on PSP aswell so I can play it in my office tomorrow. This game is so much fun and so addictive. The Bat Cave is just a great little mini game in itself and as for the main game... better than any previous Lego game, and thats saying something I can tell you!
Often hilarious, often exciting & often pure genius. It soon becomes clear how well thought out each level is. There are many little treats to unlock and many levels require you to go back as another character with various abilitys or as Batman himself with one of the many cool gadget suits you onlock as you play through the game. This enables you to reach previously unreachable areas. So theres lots and lots of replayabily.
The care and attention to detail is amazing. The game seems to be based more on the superb 90's cartoon series and it's obvious that the devolpers were massive fans of that show... Just like me ;0)
Adults can safely pass a controller to one of their kids and have a great time together. Dad can solve the puzzles while junior beats up the bag guys. ZAP! POW!
