DVD Description
‘Tis the season to be jolly? Not for Alf Garnett. His daughter prefers the company of her Scouse husband, his mates all abandon the pub for their families and he’s left with Marigold and a cheese sandwich. Happy Christmas!

Alf Garnett at his very best
This DVD release comprises all five Christmas specials from the classic sitcom In Sickness and In Health and each one of them is hilarious, very well acted and sharply written.
The episodes feature Alf and Else's final Christmas together while the remaining episodes deal with Alf's constant battles with upstairs neighbour Mrs. Hollingbury.
If you are a fan of Alf Garnett or just great comedy in general, then you should purchase this DVD now.
Hilarious comedy.
I had only ever seen clips from these shows, but 'In Sickness' and its predecessor 'Till Death Us Do Part' really are a hilarious look at one of the dodgier aspects of human nature. Alf Garnett is an all-time classic comedy creation - we've all known people like him, and we can all laugh at his rantings. This DVD contains the five Christmas specials from 'In Sickness and in Health'. They contain some all-time great moments - Alf Garnett as a department store Santa, and the final Christmas special has to be the most hilarious one as a wedding ends in chaos. The leading character is superbly portrayed, the writing is always top-notch and the supporting actors are all great (I was amazed to see the actor who I remember as playing PC Haynes, one of The Bill's hardmen, now playing Garnett's camp home-help). :0)
There is a notion that this show is racist, but anyone who has actually watched it can see it's Alf Garnett who's the figure of fun, just like Basil Fawlty. So buy this and the other DVDs in this series before they're withdrawn by the designer-suited unelected politically-correct control-freaks who seem to think they know what's best for everyone else.
Christmas With Alf Garnett
Five episodes on this disc and the first two are wonderfully written and funny. The latter three while good do not measure up at all. Myself I am put off by the lack of Rita in the later specials and a ignorning of past events. The first special is the best with Alf faking a broke leg to get Rita to stay. The second with his carrer as a department store Santa is very hilarious and the mention that Mike and Ritas marriage is over brings joy to his ears! I would recommend this to any fan of British comedy.
