Customer Reviews

Godlike genius5
Peter Green. What do YOU think of when you hear his name ? The lean young man powering through "Oh well" or "The Green Manalishi" ? The blues master at work on "The Stumble" or "The Supernatural" ? The deft light fingered touch that produced such classics as "Man of the World", "Albatross" or "Black Magic Woman"? Or do you think of the acid casualty who produced "In the skies" and was later coaxed back to record (mainly) Robert Johnson covers with Splinter Group? Whichever is your favourite memory of Peter Green it is all here.
This is a wonderful box set featuring virtually evrything of note that this genius of the guitar ever prodiced.
I was privileged to see Splinter Group many times and had tears in my eyes watching this master of the guitar. Occasionally he would get it so right that you would wonder just how he could play like that. And then he'd disappear again behind the amps playing as a side man - what a waste.
I have everything on this collection but I have bought it for two reasons - firstly it's good to have it all in one place and secondly I fervently hope that some of the money goes to Peter Green.
Peter I hope you're well - please come back and perform again as the music scene is a much sadder and poorer place without you.

THE GREATEST BRITISH BLUESMAN OF ALL,HERE'S WHY. 5
Peter Green is without equal on the British blues scene.Hear this amazing set and I'll guarantee you'll agree. From beginnings on the first disc to the Splinter Group of the current decade, this set is pure genius,no fillers just a collection of the greatest blues recordings ever made in UK.From Peter B's Looners, through John Mayall's Bluesbreakers to the ever wonderful Fleetwood Mac (why is the most recent lineups such a pale band compared with these great days).Man Of The World surely one of the most wonderful tracks ever,Oh Well, you Don't Love Me,the glorious guitar on The Supernatural. You could go on and on but this is one awesome, beautiful box set by the greatest guitarist UK's ever produced, and in that I would even include EC himself(I'm a huge Eric fan by the way).Complete with an excellent book, many notes and comments bt the man himself.Peter is a national treasure and deserves the recognition that goes with it.This set you will play again and again, definitely not one to be missed.5 star and then some.

Great collection showing the talents of the Green God5
This is really is great collection of Peter Green's music over the years. He was at his best in Fleetwood Mac 1967 to 1970. PG was the best guitarist at that time. The collection consists of 4 CDs and the sound quality is really good. There is also a booklet that comes with this CD giving a background to Peter Green's life and songs. If you enjoy this, you have to get the Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston (Remastered 3 volumes) - it really does show how good Fleetwood Mac were live.
