Editorial Reviews
John Clarke, The Knowledge - The Times, 27th October 2008
This album of lesser known Gershwin songs is beguiling enough and handled with a sassy stylishness by Hart. The string quartet Pavao brings a Broadway polish to such numbers as the perky Tonight's The Night and the Lady Be Good-like Little Jazz Bird, while Russel Watson gets all crooner-ish on the attractive duet Isn't It A Pity.**** Four Star
Album Description
Following the discovery of rare Gershwin sheet music in an attic - unopened since WWII - Victoria Hart and Pavao have recorded the results of their findings on this unique new album.
Though George Gershwin was a prolific writer, not all of his tunes became standards. This collection, including songs never before recorded in this country, shows there are still Gershwin gems waiting to be discovered. This is a collection of just 12 of those fascinating songs, brought to life for a contemporary audience by "George Clooney's singing waitress" Victoria Hart and the Brit nominated string quartet Pavao.
Guests include Russell "The Voice" Watson, Revelation (stars of "The Last Choir Standing" TV Show), critically acclaimed jazz artist Atila and MOBO nominee Tony Kofi. The arrangements and style mark a new departure for 19 year old Hart, whose brand of "swing pop" has attracted many admirers since her career began in earnest less than 18 months ago. This is her second full album and her most challenging musical enterprise to date.

Brilliant!!
Victoria Hart is amazing and this album is so good because it involves songs that a great and that I have never heard before! Her voice has improved so much since her last album and this album is definatley worth buying if you like the 1940s style swing music and this is Gershwin so you knwo you are getting quality. The standout tracks are I Won't Give Up, Innocent Lonesome Blue Baby (amazing arragement with revelation from last choir standing), Vodka, I Can't Be Bothered Now, My Sunday Fella. These are just a few as all the tracks are really good and with a great arragement of the strings. This is what you should buy if you want proper music and also a fantastic voice and all round performance from Victoria! BUY NOW!!!
It's growing on me!
Saw Victoria on 'This Morning' & liked the sound of it.Love the 30s & 40s so was interested in hearing how she sounded.Victorias' voice is pretty average.I could hear The Puppini Sisters & Bette Midler in my head giving the songs that sassy edge that they needed. After listening to the album a few times I was singing along, but found myself wanting to jazz it up a bit more.A pleasant enough creation.
Simply great!
This album takes me back to my childhood and puts me in a 'happy place'. Victoria's vocals, as ever, are perfect and I love the duets. Her voice shows signs of maturing and her delivery / timing is faultless. Already on my Ipod and highly recommend the album as a must have, enjoy!
