CD Description
Songs Of Faith & Devotion, an explosive Billboard #1 album when it was released in '93, continued the band's winning streak and introduced the Top 40 smash "I Feel You." Also features the classic tracks "Condemnation," "Walking In My Shoes," and "In Your Room," the focal point of the album's blend of the personal and the spiritual.

Rock Mode
Whilst Violator was the breakthrough commercial album for the Mode, SOFAD that followed, proved DM were not content on releasing another purely electronic album.
It is well documented that DM had many personal issues whilst recording the album, however, despite this, they managed to build on the success that Violator had bought them by producing an album of top quality songs.
Personally I love the fact that Dave Gahn pushed for the rockier, more guitar based sound that does make the album stand out from their other previous and subsequent releases.
I purchased this album on its original release, however, the remastered release makes this an essensial purchase if you do not have the original. If you do have the album and are a fan then you probably have this new release already - if not then go out and get it!!
I also fully recommend the Devotional Tour DVD that is available as well - it fully compliments the album with great visuals and amazing performances from the band.
CyberGoth Rockers
This album and the previous Violator for me represent all that is great about DM, this album and subsequent tour took them literally to hell and back. Highlights are of course I Feel You, Walking In My Shoes and Higher Love. With this album they really pushed the envelope that is the DM sound and that why it still sounds as fresh today as then
15 Years on.... It's still brilliant
This album was realeased during March 1993. I can't believe it's 15 years old. Now to be fair, I was always a big DM fan, so i might be biased. A bit.
This album is by far and away DM's greatest moment. Any serious music fan NEEDS a copy of this in their collection.
Just buy it, listen to it and love it.
And to prove I'm a balanced DM fan, only bother with anything after SOFAD if you're as die hard as me. It pains me to say it, but as albums I think they've been getting steadily weaker with each release.
Frankly, they need Alan Wilder back. But he's busy eating pies, holidaying in Barcelona (It's a nice city after all) and making recoil albums, which are brilliant in places (e.g. Drifting) but mostly a bit boring.
