Guitar Hero Drum Kit5
Awesome. Much harder than the GH Guitar, especially if you are not a drummer, but there is a beginner lvl, and the tutorials are very helpful.

The kit is a good size and the height is adjustable. It also comes with a nice pair of drum sticks. Everything you need except the actual game and a sense of rhythm. :-)

Hours of fun. Expecially in band mode with some friends

Excellent piece of kit5
I already had GHWT and GH5 with the guitar and had so much fun that I felt I had to try the drum kit. I was very impressed with the build quality of the kit, it is very sturdy and has the feel of a real drum machine rather than a plastic controller.

The game is a lot more difficult that with the guitar because with the guitar your fingers can rest in position whereas you actually have to drum this which means there is a potential to miss the pads / clash sticks when you get excited but I guess that is all part of the real experience .. I got totally lost in "Livin' on a Prayer' and was rocking like a madman whilst playing.

I would think that the hardware has a limited life span given that you have to hit it repeatedly however it requires virtually no impact at all to make a noise so I think it should last a fair while.

The price is much too high for what it is and as such would recommend that people go for the complete set with mic as it represents better value (I would have if I had realised how much I would get into it!) but the drums as a standalone item are very good.

Great idea, shame about the hardware!!2
I bought this item for the Playstation 3 for my son's birthday in March 09. On arrival the drums were easy to assemble and he was playing them within minutes. However, within a few days one of the cymbals (orange) started to malfunction, which not only creates a lot of frustration for a 10 year old but actually ruins the whole point of the game. The concept of playing drums along to classic rock anthems on a computer game is brilliant, and when they do work the drums are a lot of fun. But as the whole point of the game is to beat the drums and cymbals to the rhythm set out by a series of rolling coloured discs on the screen, this cannot be done if the general hardware fails to respond. Also, if the player misses too many beats, the game track will stop and the virtual `crowd' will actually boo you!
The product was returned and replaced (excellent service by Amazon by the way) but after only two days the same cymbal stopped working and so we once again returned them, but this time we took our money back.
I don't know if we were just plain unlucky or whether there are serious teething issues with the drum kit, but I would not as yet recommend spending the money on this game.
