Red Alert Garbage Edition- System Errors
Do not buy this game!

It is not programmed to be compatible with Windows XP, the product description is misleading.

The game is Windows 95.

There is a patch that supposedly makes it work on Windows XP and Vista.

Downloaded thisd and my system crashed and it showed non responsive programme.

Bugger.
I loaded and installed this game straight out of the new box. I followed all the prompts.
My pooter crashed. A big blank screen greeted me, and the only out was to switch the pooter off. Now, I'm not going to give up on this because the damn thing is supposed to be configured for XP, so I'll have a go at some online support tomorrow. So far, though...disappointed. Very, very disappointed. If the situation should change, I'll ditch this review and eat humble pie with my next review.
Suggestion? Don't part with a penny until you've seen more reviews.

Well, I tried all of the above. I contacted the manufacturer. Their website must be a showpiece because I didn't get a reply from them.
This game will not, despite the other comments and reviews (which, I think, must have been written by shareholders in the company)play on XP. It does not play, specifically, on laptops.
Supremely disappointed. I'm hoping I can still get some use out of it by trying it on my Play Station 2.
I haven't felt so hard done by since I invested in Betamax.

It works on XP
Amazon is selling the SOLD OUT version of Red Alert which means it can play on XP becase Sold Out specifically designs older games for XP. I know cos i had Sim City 3000 AND i have RA both on Sold Out.
