Underrated Gem!
"MANDY" was released way back in 1988 and became one of those cruelly ignored pop gems that should have hit the big time. Despite having huge success and popularity in Europe & japan, this wonderful slice of pure pop was virtually ignored here in the UK. Despite releasing numerous singles (which hit the gay clubs, but nowhere else), it did not catch on with the media or the general public. I doubt Ms Smith would ever claim to be a serious "artist" and she was merely a "product" for the PWL musical production line and media spotlight. This aside, she puts her all into each track and as usual, PWL wave that magic, musical wand to produce fresh and upbeat HI-NRG pop music, which ws very popular at the time. Stand out tracks include "Positive Reaction", "Boys & Girls" & "Mandy's Theme"..Its great to see this album get a long awaited "special edition" release after all these years.

Found at last - a 'lost' classic!!
What a fabulous find - Mandy's 'lost' late 80's gem of an album.

Contained on here are some shockingly overlooked tracks, ignored by the record buying public of the day, such as ' I Just Can't Wait' and her storming cover of Human League's 'Don't You Want Me'. There are also some great 'unknown' tracks, heard first here, such as the very Euro-trash 80's-tastic 'Positive Reaction'. She didn't have a single top 75 hit and it's a true mystery why?

Sandwiched in here is also a version of one of Kylie's early hits ('Got To Be Certain') and an SAW staple-track - 'If It Makes You Feel Good' - recorded by, it seems, ALL their other artists including Donna Summer, Princess and Lonnie Gordon.

Mandy didn't have the best voice, but she looked fantastic and could carry a tune. In fact, her voice suited the very style of SAW well and, I'm sure, she could've been HUGE at the time (late 80's/90's) but unfortunately she was already too well known as being Bill Wyman's teenage bride and I think that, alone, overshadowed her potential singing star status. Shame really... but enjoy this slice of pop-culture anyway!

80s Classic
OMG I still have this on vinyl from when i bugged my mum to get me it as a kid way back in 88-89. Every track is wicked and so reminds of me of the times with my friends back in the day. Bought all Mandy's 12" and remixes too so was good to actually get this new special edition cd as there are a couple of tracks and remixes I didnt have already. Love Mandys version of the propogand hit - Duel. Was just a bit miffed that there was only a demo and 7" mix of 'Dont u want me baby' - really was hoping the 12" cocktail mix would have been included but hey u cant have everything huh! Fab album tho and Mandy really did deserve success back then!!! But sadly it never happened. I wonder what she is doing now and if she is still as gorgeous!!! Bless her!
