5 Stars for the Original CD, 3 for Special Edition due to Edits Used

A long overdue and in-demand reissue (Original CD goes for 3-figure sums on auction sites) has unfortunately been partially messed up by the reissue company. The quality of the songs are there, but the original running times of the tracks have been shortened to accomodate a host of remixes/demos as Bonus Tracks.
On its first release it was only 8 Tracks, but compared to the Original Cassette/CD (and even LP for pity's sake!), 3 of the main 8 tracks on the Special Edition differ as follows:

Original Running Time : 07:49
Special Edition Running Time: 03:33
2. I'll Keep On Loving You
Original Running Time : 07:29
Special Edition Running Time: 04:04
6. Tell Me Tomorrow
Original Running Time : 04:42

This is quite a chunk off the running time of the main album, and I would have been happier purchasing this reissue if less sub-standard mixes were included whilst preserving the original album cuts in their entirety (which is what buyers upgrading from vinyl want?).
Cherry Pop are normally very good with their reissues & researching, but I can't help feeling the priority has been skewed & it's an opportunity missed.
Oh well, maybe a "Special" Special Edition will be available in another 20-odd years.....
Outstanding!
This has always been one of my favourite modern soul/dance albums of the 80's..Finally crafted songs with catchy hooklines and killer synth work by those wonderful PWL boys..This album is finely crafted, and a perfect example of the smooth, soulful sound that PWL were producing in the early to mid eighties, before embarking on their bubblegum/HI-NRG pop. Princess delivers killer vocals on evry track, and proves herself a talented lady.
Its wonderful to finally get this album on CD (Special edition) which includes a lovely colour booklet and various remixes and unreleased demos..worth eevry penny!
Beware: Not a real re-issue
As described in one of the other reviews three original tracks have been shorten to leave space for bonus tracks which is a shame. Not a good compromise. The tracks are:
