THIS IS MY FOURTH PORTABLE DVD PLAYER,THE OTHERS WERE ALL PHILIPS.THE FIRST ONE WAS GREAT SO WHEN I WORE IT OUT
AFTER THREE YEARS I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE,THE NEXT ONE ONLY LASTED A FEW MONTHS & ITS REPLACEMENT NOT EVEN THAT LONG.SO IVE NOW GOT THE SONY & WHAT A FANTASTIC BIT OF KIT IT IS,BETTER PICTURE & SOUND PLUS ITS VERY LIGHT & YES
THE BATTERY WILL LAST FOR FIVE HRS.IN USE IT IS VERY QUIET ( GREAT WHEN LISTENING AT LOW LEVELS )PLUS IT HAS TWO
HEADPHONE OUTPUTS,ONE I SOMETIMES CONNECT TO A PAIR OF SMALL SPEAKERS TO GIVE A BIT MORE VOLLUME.IT PLAYS STANDARD DVDS PLUS ALL THE DVDS IVE RECORDED MYSELF ON MY PHILIPS +R RECORDER.THE ONLY DOWNSIDE I CAN FIND IS CHANGING THE SCREEN TO FULL SIZE FROM NORMAL IS A BIT TRICKY.I SOMETIMES USE THE SONY WIYH MY PROJECTOR AND
THE PICTURE IS MUCH SHARPER THAN THE PHILIPS DVD WAS.SO I THINK I WILL STICK WITH SONY FROM NOW ON & HOPE THEY
ARE AS GOOD WHEN I NEED A NEW ONE.

we bought this portable DVD player for our 12 year old son to use on a long journey to scotland from lincolnshire this october. It was fantastic. The sound and picture qualitiy are amazing. It also has two headphone sockets so two people could listen at once. But most of all there is no massive battery to lug around, you can either charge it up by plugging it in to a standard socket or connect it to the cigarette lighter in the car. We didn't have to have it plugged in the car as it lasts for 5 hours with one charge! we were amazed. The only very slight hitch is that it doesn't have a carry case but that is a very small price to pay for all the other bonuses it has. An excellent choice and we would recommend spending a bit more and buying this player as it was well worth the cost.

Very pleased with the picture quality and sound. Used by my 10 yr old in the car mostly. She loves it. Would recommend.
