Worst collector's edition ever
Don't get me wrong, the game is fantastic and I love it. But the collector's edition is a complete rip-off. I was expecting to have a cool metal batarang, a replica of the 'real' one. Instead what you get is a cheap piece of plastic that is embarrassing to look at. I think most people got this because of the batarang (I did), and I expect every single one of them was sadly disappointed.
There is also a voucher code for an extra level, which doesn't really add anything to the game. It is another one of those self-contained small maps with waves of enemies showing up, there is plenty of those in the game (they are called 'challenges', which you unlock during the normal story mode).
The game itself doesn't even have a proper box so you can shelve it with your other games!
I paid £60 for this special edition and I felt ripped off. I would absolutely get this game, but the regular edition! Not this overpriced ****.
Don't get the collector's box!
The Batarang Is A Lie!
The game is a lot of fun, I will not deny it. It's a great game, and I don't agree that it's "Batman Does God of War". To me, these kinds of games are now a genre of their own, with every GOOD game carrying their own personal twists on the genre. So yes, if you like the genre that God of War and Prince of Persia embody, you will most likely enjoy this game.
However, if you're considering buying the Collector's Edition for the batarang with a stand, don't. It's a crudely made piece of black plastic with some scratches on it and a stand that is embedded in the - for lack of a better word - toy. It really bears no resemblance to the slick, lethal-looking batarang in the game. It's thick, unpainted and plastic through and through.
There are a lot of other goodies in the pack, so I would cautiously say that it's worth it, but only if the batarang - their primary selling point - is not important to your buying it at all.
Just the game
The game is awesome. the best Batman game yet. you can wade in and fight or go stealth and pick your rivals off. I would say the Batarang is just a cheap piece of plastic, so if you are going to buy this just buy the game.
