Buy new: £29.29 / Used from: £1.91 This 3-CD tour-de-force contains some of Prince's finest compositions. It has the minor drawback of being flawlessly produced and slightly overlong. Best treated as 3 disparate albums.

Buy used from: £8.44 In my opinion, an updated Purple Rain. Proof that time doesn't affect great songwriters. Only drawback is 'NPG operator voice' found between tracks. Greatest song on album is Dolphin.

Buy new: £5.48 / Used from: £1.99 Another album/movie soundtrack. Fantastic high points, in particular, Sometimes It Snows In April, Mountains and Kiss. Slightly flawed in that it was a soundtrack, not an album moulded to be such.

Buy used from: £9.98 A weird album to say the least. Flawed by the voice of 'Bob George II' throughout. A great jazz-funk album nevertheless. Will be seen as a classic in 10 years.

Buy new: £6.88 / Used from: £2.39 A typical early Prince album - many great songs, some weak ones. Highlights in particular are: Paisley Park, Conditon of the Heart, The Ladder and, of course, Raspberry Beret.

Buy new: £5.18 / Used from: £4.71 The album that set Prince apart from his peers. This album's strength is demonstrated by the fact that he still plays these rock songs today and they (arguably) sound better when played as jazz!

Buy new: £7.98 / Used from: £0.48 This album misses that uniquely Prince touch. But it still has some wonderful songs: Love 2 the 9s, Morning Papers, God Created Woman. Listen out for the Bohmeian Rhapsody superior, 3 Chains O' Gold.
