I just happened across this novel on Listmania and took a chance and I am definately not sorry. Based on the reign of Edward IV, it has two other books to follow on - The Exiled and The Beloved.

This excellent Elizabeth Chadwick novel is one of her best! Catrin and Oliver are just made for each other.

Anya Seton's masterpeice, Katherine, tells the story of John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford and their love affair that spanned decades. Memorable and extremely moving.

Following on from James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans telling the story of a little village in upstate New York in a time of civil unrest. Elizabeth Middleton is a truly daring heroine!

Amber St Clare would put Scarlett O'Hara to shame in the ruthlessness department. While not a particularly likeable character, I was truly absorbed in this novel! It is a must for any historical fan!!

Barbara Alderley is quite possibly the most innocent heroine I have ever read about. Her naivety is very sad at times, especially as she is such a likeable character. Sequel called Now Face To Face.

I loved the story here however my very favourite parts were when Ms hart wrote about Indian life and customs. Fascinating!

Although I loved all the books in the White series, I simply adored the story of White Wolf and Jessie Jones. I would advise you to read te entire series!!!

Based on fact, this is the story of William Marshal, telling of his life and one true love, Isabel de Clare. Look out for the sequel released later this year.
